Nearly 200 volunteers came out under overcast skies to spur the annual Stuff The Bus Food drive. Led by The Food Bank of Manatee-Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee in collaboration with United Way Suncoast, Publix, The Mosaic Company and the School District of Manatee County, the drive delivered -- thanks in part to some dedicated teens who didn't let the weather get them down. United Way Suncoast was proud to see the Business Observer include CEO Kourtney Sanchez in its 40 Under 40 2026 Class during a special celebration Thursday night at The Ora in Sarasota. In individual articles, each member shared about an important mentor, and Kourtney spoke glowingly of her "Poppop," former St. Petersburg banker Toby Krayer. United Way Suncoast has launched “Amendment 3: Beyond the Ballot,” a nonpartisan campaign designed to help voters understand the proposed constitutional amendment and what it could mean for communities across the region. The centerpiece of the campaign is a panel discussion that brought together elected officials from Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, and DeSoto counties. Craig Kopp of WUSF Public Media moderated the discussion, which was recorded for public viewing. United Way Suncoast does not support or oppose Amendment 3, but we're compelled to educate given the potential impact on our ALICE families. Link in the comments.

United Way Suncoast's support of ALICE families and its role as a community leader and trusted convener requires it to help donors, partners and residents understand the potential regional effects of Amendment 3.

Tax season may feel far away, but we're already getting ready to make an impact. Last year, our VITA program helped file more than 10,000 tax returns and bring over $11 million back to local families and communities through free tax preparation.

Now, we need volunteers to help us do it again. No professional tax experience is required, and free training is provided. Some of our VITA volunteers have been coming back for more than a decade, and we'd love for you to be part of it, too!
