The Tampa Historical Society (THS) was established in 1971 as one of the first groups to preserve Tampa’s History. Knight cottage in Hyde Park and the publishers of the Sunland Tribune until 2009, THS continues to promote preservation awareness of the rich history found in one of Tampa’s oldest neighborhoods. Currently, THS is working towards the restoration of the Peter O. There are several repai

rs needed and once the cottage is restored to its original glory, the intent is to begin regular monthly programming to bring more awareness to the many wonderful efforts Peter O. Knight contributed to in the early development of Tampa. THS is an all-volunteer group and board. We have no wages or admin to pay. Any and all donations are tax-deductible and the funds will be used towards the restoration of the historic Peter O. Knight cottage in Hyde Park.
