The American Immigrant Alliance
The mission of The American Immigrant Alliance is to end the book famine in Florida for immigrant and migrant children.

The American Immigrant Alliance is a collaborative effort designed to increase awareness and equality for immigrants and strengthen their advocacy and advancement. With your help, we will help create a culture of literacy and provide the tools of empowerment to the next generation of parents, teachers, and leaders in Florida. Books are acquired through governmental grants and are sorted and packed

by volunteers, most of them immigrants or children of immigrants themselves, who carefully choose books that are age and subject appropriate. We provide brand new Scholastic books for children to pick their favorites from. The American Immigrant Alliance has donated more than 1,500 books to 10 different organizations and schools in the past year. Each book will be read over and over again. When the books arrive, they go to those who need them most: children who are hungry to read, hungry to learn, hungry to explore the world in ways that only books make possible.

We are extremely excited and honored to announce our latest undertaking: The Immigrant Story: Greater Middle East and South Asia.

This project is designed to bring awareness to the community about the positive contributions made by our immigrants. Given the high level of national attention to the immigration issue, there is a vital need to present an accurate view of immigration in the United States. By method of presenting humanizing stories, this project has the exciting potential to put a human face to immigration, highlight the positive contributions of immigrants to the American fabric, and honor the people who make up our country.
