It was a beautiful and fun afternoon at the St. Timothy SOS Ministries' 3rd Annual Run For the Roses on May 2nd!

The venue was adorned to resemble the spirit of a Kentucky Derby race, with each table featuring its own charming bouquet of delicious cupcakes! Laura Hamilton spoke on the startup of Bridging Freedom, the services we provide and exciting updates! The Priest led us in the Human Trafficking prayer that opened everyone's heart toward the impact of the day.

After our delicious lunch, everyone was anticipating the highlight of the day, the wooden horse race! Laughter and cheers filled the room with everyone eager to see if the horse they bet on would cross the finish line. The energy was infectious, and even those who weren't racing found themselves caught up in the excitement. The atmosphere was joyous, as people came together to enjoy the festivities and to support a meaningful cause.

As the afternoon unfolded, it was clear that this event was not just about fun; it was about community, kindness, and the shared goal of making a positive impact. It was a day filled with laughter and goodwill, a testament to the spirit of the St. Timothy community, and a very special thank you to Cindy Pidala for all you do in our community and for Bridging Freedom!

We are very excited for the new NCOSE Parent Center AI app to be launching in May! This new tool will be providing parents with answers to questions regarding protecting kids online with resources and actions. We believe this innovative tool will be a valuable asset in helping families navigate the digital world with confidence and peace of mind.

We are so thankful for the beautiful Spring Into Fashion event hosted by Christ the King’s Circles 20 & 16! Each year, their commitment and generosity have helped us to truly Restore Stolen Childhoods!

The event was beautifully decorated with a floral runway wrapping around the tables so all could see the fun fashion show featuring new styles by many South Tampa boutiques. Their dedication is truly heartwarming. Thank you once again for your amazing support and for making a difference in the lives of young girls!

Bridging Freedom’s CEO, Laura Hamilton and Program Director, Dr. Teri Lee were in attendance of Governor Ron DeSantis signing two very important bills for our state today. Missy‘s law and CS/CS/HB 1159: S*xual Offenses. They also had the pleasure of speaking to Florida Attorney General, James Uthmeier about the important work we do.

“Justice demands that those who victimize innocent people face swift and meaningful consequences,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “Today, I signed two important bills to strengthen law and order in Florida by holding dangerous criminals and s*x offenders accountable for their crimes. In Florida, we will always fight to protect our children and deliver justice for victims of crimes.”

Bridging Freedom was encouraged to be with many community leaders in Dade city, Pasco County today at the Red Sand event. Everyone who attended cares deeply about the issue of Human Trafficking and wants to be a part of the solution. Bridging Freedom was honored to help host this event along side of the Department of Children and Families and Pasco County Commission on Human Trafficking. Many people in the community gathered together to fill the cracks with red sand. Each grain of sand represents a victim who has fallen through the cracks of social, economic, and political systems. Bridging Freedom is working with children recovered from traffickers and are restoring stolen childhoods through our long-term residential therapeutic safe home program.
