Love IV Lawrence

Love IV Lawrence Working to change the conversation around mental health and su***de to end stigma and save lives.

06/04/2026

June is Men’s Health Month, and we are shining a vital spotlight on a conversation that sits at the absolute heart of Love IV Lawrence.

Our organization was born out of the painful loss of Lawrence Hundley Dimmitt, IV. Like so many men, Lawrence was a bright, deeply loved light who fought an invisible battle.

Statistically, men are four times more likely to die by su***de than women. They make up nearly 80% of all su***de deaths. Over 6 million men deal with depression daily—the problem is the cultural pressure to internalize it and "tough it out."

True strength isn't about carrying an unbearable weight alone. It’s having the courage to say, "I'm not okay, and I need a hand." Let’s use this month to shatter the silence and change the narrative for the men we love in Tampa Bay.

If you are a man quietly struggling today: your story is worth saving. You belong here.

Memorial Day is a sacred time for reflection, a time to honor the legacies of those who are no longer with us and the profound spaces they left behind.

At Love IV Lawrence, remembrance is at the very core of our heartbeat. We know deeply that the best way to honor a beautiful light gone too soon is to turn our grief into a purpose that protects the living.

As we wrap up Mental Health Awareness Month and step into this holiday weekend, our mission remains focused on creating ripples of hope. We honor the past by actively funding the future, by making sure our community is a place where it is safe to struggle, safe to talk, and safe to heal.

To anyone carrying the heavy weight of loss, service, or silent battles this weekend: we see you. You do not have to carry it alone.

Let’s use this weekend to look out for one another, check in on our neighbors, and carry the legacies of those we love forward with compassion. 🕊️

New research shows the power of connection in action. Since the launch of 988, youth su***de rates have dropped 11% below expected levels—more than 4,300 young lives saved. Communities with higher use of 988 saw even greater impact.

Access matters. Awareness matters. Connection saves lives.

The "ripples of change" continue to grow! We are so proud to announce an additional 2026 grant recipient: Safe & Sound Hillsborough

Safe & Sound is a vital collaborative in our community, working tirelessly to address the root causes of violence and trauma. Their mission is built on the belief that a safe community is one where everyone has the resources, mentorship, and support they need to thrive.

Through this specific grant, we are proud to fund their Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training initiative. This crucial, evidence-based program teaches everyday citizens, community leaders, and mentors how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health challenges and substance use disorders.

Since 2019, Safe & Sound has already trained 1,101 Mental Health First Aiders in our community. While these certified courses cost the hosting organization $175 per person to provide, they are offered completely free to the public thanks to collaborative funding. Our grant ensures that more local leaders and neighbors can access this life-saving 8-hour training.

By investing in MHFA, we are helping Safe & Sound bridge the gap between crisis intervention and long-term mental wellness building a more resilient Hillsborough County from the ground up.

We are honored to invest in their work as they continue to turn community challenges into opportunities for healing and hope.

Since 2018, Love IV Lawrence has been dedicated to one thing: turning the pain of loss into a movement of hope for the Tampa Bay community. Today, we are sharing an update on the incredible impact your support has made possible.

The ripples are growing:

$882,866 in total grants awarded to the front lines of mental health.

62 local nonprofit organizations supported.

159 individual grants funded to save lives and end the stigma.

These aren’t just numbers on a page. These stats represent thousands of students reached through 988 awareness, dozens of wellness rooms built in our schools, and countless lives touched by crisis intervention and peer support.

Every dollar donated to Love IV Lawrence is a commitment to ensuring that no one in our community has to walk the path of mental illness or su***de loss alone. As we look toward the future, our mission remains the same: to fund the work that saves lives.

Thank you for being part of the ripple. We are just getting started.

COur children are carrying a weight they weren't meant to carry alone.

As we continue through Mental Health Awareness Month, we are taking a deep dive into the reality of youth mental health. These statistics are heartbreaking, but they are numbers we can no longer afford to ignore.

Behind every percentage is a student, a neighbor, or a child in our own home. When we see that 1 in 7 youth are struggling with a mental health disorder, or that su***de has become a leading cause of death for children as young as ten, we have to realize that awareness isn't enough. We need action.

Protecting the next generation starts with looking out for the signs. Changes in sleep, withdrawal from friends, or a drop in grades. But it also requires us to build a community where they feel safe enough to say, "I’m not okay."

At Love IV Lawrence, we are committed to being part of the solution. We fund the organizations on the front lines, from school wellness rooms to early intervention programs, ensuring that when a child reaches out, a resource is there to meet them.

Swipe through to see the data. Let’s keep our children safe. Let’s keep the conversation going. Let’s talk about children’s mental health.

If you’ve been feeling the weight lately, we want you to know: you are not alone.

During National Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re looking closely at the numbers. Not to cause alarm, but to offer connection.

When we see the data, we realize that our "internal" struggles are actually a shared human experience.

It is also time to break the silence around the hardest topic of all. Contrary to the common myth, talking openly and directly about su***de does not "plant the idea." In fact, research shows that honest conversation reduces shame, builds connection, and is often the first step toward a life-saving intervention.

At Love IV Lawrence, we fund the "ripples of change" so that when someone has the courage to speak up, there is a community ready to listen and resources ready to help.

Swipe through to see the reality of what our community is facing. We name these numbers because we refuse to let them stay hidden in the dark.

You are a vital part of this community. Your story matters.
