Our It’s A Girl Thing event was full from start to finish. Nearly 90 girls and over 50 moms walked through the doors and got to experience something many of them rarely receive… a day where they were seen, celebrated, and cared for with no pressure and no cost to them.
The girls were able to shop for new-to-them clothing, try things on, laugh with each other, and just be teens for a while. Moms had space to breathe, connect, and feel supported instead of stretched thin while getting to shop from new SKIMS bras and Nike clothing. There were a lot of smiles, a few happy tears, and more than one “This is SO much fun!”
We are incredibly grateful to Loft 181 for opening their space and loving our families so well, and to Champion City Church for faithfully supporting our programs. Partnerships like these make days like this possible.
To our donors who purchased items from the wish list, you need to know this: those weren’t just cute items for the girls and moms to enjoy... They were confidence, dignity, and a reminder to each girl that she matters. You tangibly changed how these girls see themselves.
And to our volunteers… you checked families in, carried bags, helped with sizing, restocked racks, played big sister, listened to stories, and prayed with moms. You didn’t just help run an event. You helped create safety and joy.
We say it often, but it’s true. Give Joy Collective is not a building or a program. It’s a community of people choosing to show up for vulnerable children and struggling families again and again.
Thank you for helping us love them well.
