Today is National Community Cat Day! πŸ±πŸŽ‰

You've seen them around your neighborhood β€” but do you know the most humane way to help community cats thrive? It's called TNVR: Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return.

πŸͺ€ TRAP: Cats are humanely trapped
βœ‚οΈ NEUTER: Spayed or neutered by a licensed vet
πŸ’‰ VACCINATE: Rabies and other vaccines administered
πŸ“ RETURN: Cats go back to their outdoor home, ear-tipped to show they've been fixed

The result? Stable, healthier colonies and fewer kittens entering shelters. 🐾

Florida Animal Friend grants fund TNVR programs at shelters and rescues across the state β€” and it all starts with your plate.

See an ear-tipped cat? That little tip tells an important story. 🐾

It means the cat has been spayed or neutered and vaccinated through a TNR program, helping prevent repeat trapping and supporting healthier community cat populations.

We’re proud to support the organizations doing this work across Florida.

If you’ve ever seen a cat with the tip of one ear missing, don’t worry β€” it wasn’t an injury. It’s actually one of the most important signs of care in community cat management.

An ear tip is a small, painless snip done while a cat is already under anesthesia for spay/neuter surgery.

Ear tipping is the universal sign that a community cat has been spayed/neutered and vaccinated. It’s a tiny snip that keeps them safe, prevents repeat trapping, and shows they’re part of a cared‑for colony.

It's here. πŸŽ‰

October is Spay & Neuter Awareness Month, and we're kicking things off with the facts.

Spaying and neutering your pet isn't just responsible pet ownership β€” it's one of the most powerful tools we have to keep Florida's shelters from overflowing. 🐾

πŸ”Ή Reduces the risk of certain cancers and health issues
πŸ”Ή Keeps community cat colonies healthier and more stable
πŸ”Ή Prevents unplanned litters before they start
πŸ”Ή Frees up shelter resources for the animals who need it most
