Kidney Care Network

Kidney Care Network A venue designed for people with pre/post kidney failure, and kidney transplants to share inner thou You are responsible for your own health care.

This kidney community discussion forum can be a very helpful element in helping to manage your kidney disease. Prevention is the biggest key; support, however, is a big factor. The manner in which you manage your health care can be the resulting factor in your quality of life. However, nothing is perfect, nothing will always happen as we plan, but at least we can make a concerted effort. This Face

book page was provided to allow you to express and compare your experiences, interact with others. Kidney Care Network is very near and dear to my heart. I saw my mom, and two of my maternal aunts being affected with this disease. I initially thought that this was a disease that somehow prominent within our family. I quickly discovered differently when I became affected with this disease and during dialysis was able to see the genre of people receiving dialysis, i.e. the young, old, all races. It was widespread. This disease does not discriminate -- it affects everyone. Let's connect with others who may become a support person, prayer partner, a friend or an advocate in your well being. You are not in this battle alone

Hi:
Attached please find an article that was published in the Florida Sentinel on December 2, 2014. This month marked seventeen (17) months post my kidney transplant. In spite of all the personal trials and tribulations, the kidney, with minor adjustments along the way, has been, to date, successful. I'm blessed.
Dialysis was not fun, but I had a good support system. I watched others and could feel their pain. I always wanted to find a way to help someone less fortunate. After much thought, I decided to start a community support forum page. This page would be a venue for others and also a way to let others know that they are not going through this journey alone. It is a way to allow individuals to connect, share, and even mentor someone else.
If you know of anyone who is pre/post transplant, on dialysis and will need any kind of kidney support of anykind, please ask the individual(s) to go to Facebook and type in kcn.support. Together we can do this.
With God's help we can do this.
Will be in touch soon.
Thanks.

God Bless.

This page is dedicated to the seven Smith Sisters, my mom included. It is this group of women that made me the strong woman that I have become today. It is them that taught me the power of prayer. Thank you and we miss you. I would also like to thank my family and friends, especially my children for their compassion, support and patience.
Life is what you make it. Kidney disease is a challenging disease, yes, but with adjustments, you can live as normal a life as possible.
Through this page, you will be able to interact with others and share/care and mentor others. My hope is that you will be able to grow physically and mentally.
Thank you.
God Bless.

Initial Start of Dialysis
Even though kidney care is a very personal
business, it can quickly become thebusiness of your
spouse, mom, dad, sister, brother, cousin or friend’s
business.
Allow me to introduce myself to you via this
website. In theseweb journals, I will be writing about
my personal experiences as well as sharing my
professional knowledge/researchof kidneys, disease
prevention, public education and in essence kidney
care.I will try to write and explain as best as I can
in layman’s terms.
Not only will these writings be informative, but
also an opportunity for you to share your story and
possibly communicate with others with the same dilemma.
We can all learn from each other.
The previous generation in my maternal family
succumbed to kidney failure as a result of diabetes.
My mom and two of her sisters were affected by this
disease.
