Sometimes the setting tells the whole story. 💙
On Saturday, July 18, the Leadership Hillsborough Board of Directors gathered at the Riverview Public Library for our 2026–2027 Board Retreat - a day of welcoming new and returning board members, reviewing the year of programming ahead, and recommitting to servant leadership.
And here’s what made it special: our retreat was held in the James B. Johnson Community Room.
If that name sounds familiar, it should. “Jim” Johnson is our longest-serving Leadership Hillsborough graduate - someone we recently celebrated for 25 years of dedicated service to LH and to the South County community. To plan the future of this organization in a space that bears his name felt like more than a coincidence. It felt like a full-circle moment - a reminder that leadership isn’t a program you finish. It’s a commitment you keep.
We’re also thrilled to be gearing up to welcome the LH Class of 2026–2027 at our Opening Retreat.
Because this is what we’re here for: cultivating strong leadership and vibrant communities by equipping people with the skills, knowledge, and networks to make a meaningful impact right here in Hillsborough County.
To our incoming and returning board members - thank you for saying yes.
Let’s get to work.
