Florida Lantern Project

Florida Lantern Project A Florida nonprofit delivering rapid disaster relief to families when they need it most. 501(c)(3) Public Charity with EIN 86-3574323.

Sylvan Ramble Lights’ mission is to support local non-profits by generating awareness and raising funds through the joy of the holidays. To achieve our mission, we host numerous family-friendly holiday events including drives, auctions, and most notably holiday light shows. Each event’s goal is to raise money and awareness for local non-profits. In 2023, we will be supporting charities that enrich the lives of children and youth in the Tampa Bay area.

We’re so grateful for Tampa Day School! On only a few days' notice, their students raised $2,400 in support of our Lanterns for Jamaica relief initiative!

These funds will be used to transport supplies to the GEM distribution center in Southeast FL, and strengthen our Adopt-a-School partnerships across Jamaica as communities rebuild after Hurricane Melissa.

As Hurricane Melissa prepares to leave widespread devastation across Jamaica, the Florida Lantern Project is gearing up to help our Caribbean neighbor.

Through a initiative we are calling , the Florida Lantern Project has begun collaborating with local and foreign organisations such as the Jamaican American Association of Central Florida and the Jamaican Red Cross to coordinate support efforts within Florida.

Stay tuned for ways you can help with Florida supply drives, events, and other verified needs from Jamaica.

**Lanterns for Jamaica is an awareness and support campaign, not a formal Mobilization under FLP’s policy. All funds will come from designated relief contributions and partner resources, not from FLP’s general operating budget, in compliance with its 501(c)(3) charitable mission**

There’s a unique need for disaster support for people in vulnerable or complex situations. Whether they have pets, mobility limitations, medical conditions, or simply no transportation, not everyone can rely solely on public city or county resources.

Take Amy for example. A single mom, doing well, until Hurricane Helene flooded her home and car. Then just days later, Hurricane Milton hit, and suddenly she had no way to evacuate, no backup plan, and nowhere to turn.

Our work steps in when others can’t, however. Through our partnerships with Uber and Hilton, we were able to get her and her family safely evacuated to higher ground!

At Florida Lantern Project, every decision we make is guided by five core values that define who we are and how we serve:

Family-Centered Support – Every decision we make prioritizes the well-being and stability of families affected by disaster.

Community-Driven Impact – We believe in the power of communities to support one another, fostering resilience and collaboration in times of crisis.

Breaking Barriers – Bureaucracy and red tape should never stand in the way of relief. We cut through obstacles to provide real, immediate assistance.

Integrity & Accountability – We act with honesty, transparency, and a commitment to maximizing every resource for on-the-ground impact.

Innovative Solutions – We embrace technology and forward-thinking strategies to enhance disaster response, improve resource distribution, and ensure families receive the fastest, most effective support possible.

We hope you will join us on June 7th at the Beacons of Hope Gala to support these values in action and kick off our operations!

Exciting News: Sylvan Ramble Lights is Now the Florida Lantern Project!

For years, Sylvan Ramble Lights has brought joy and light to our community, supporting local nonprofits and spreading holiday cheer. Now, we’re evolving that vision in a powerful way. Introducing the Florida Lantern Project (FLP).

Our new mission is to bring light to communities in times of disaster by providing innovative, immediate, and family-centered relief, critical resources, and community-driven support.

This transition is a natural evolution of our goal to bring light to our community. With a launch event in June, a clear transition strategy, and a growing network of supporters, we’re ready to make a lasting impact.

It is our 4th year!

It all started in 2015, when we purchased a 16 channel light controller for a school performance. From the moment we set our first 16 stands of Christmas lights to music 4 years ago, we have been dedicated to provide the best family entertainment possible around the holiday season by utilizing our lights to their max potential. Now, with over 13 football field’s worth of RGB LED lights, we are bringing joy to people’s holiday season while raising money for great causes.
