We have had 39 leaders complete training since Sunday. (Thank you!) There are still 64 who need to update their SYT.

Please set the time aside to complete this training. Let it run until the tests pop up to take. If you stop before completing, your progress will be saved for you to resume.

Once completed, it takes about a day for the system to update.

Thanks for all you do to keep our youth safe!

🚨 Training Update 🚨

The final fixes are now live in Training Manager for Safeguarding Youth Training. Here’s what you need to know:

If you previously completed the old Youth Protection Training, you’ll be linked to the new 90-minute Safeguarding Youth Training to renew your status.

If you already completed the newer Safeguarding Youth Training, you’ll be linked to the 20-minute refresher course.

There’s a 30-day grace period to complete the refresher after your current training expires. After that, the full 90-minute course will be required for annual renewal.

✅ Make sure to check your training status soon so you stay up to date!

Leaders, please check your rosters, we have over 100 Scouting leaders in our District with expired Safeguarding Youth Training.

Please share with any Scouter you know. 100% SYT compliance is our goal!

Good evening,

As of May 31, 2026, all previous Safeguarding Youth Training certifications (formerly Youth Protection Training or YPT) have expired.

All registered adult leaders must complete the new Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) course OR the SYT refresher course if they completed the new training last year.

As a reminder, SYT must now be renewed annually to help ensure the safety of every youth and adult participating in our programs.

Please log in to your account at my.scouting.org and verify that your Safeguarding Youth Training is current.

Communication is forthcoming to those who need to complete it. If you have any questions, please reach out to your Unit Commissioner or your training chair for assistance.

Fishing and Fossil Day!

Few things to remember:
Gate open at 9:30
Activities start at 10:00
EVERYONE MUST HAVE CLOSED TOED SHOES! Fish hooks hurt!
Kevin the Hotdog Man will be there: $5 special-hotdog, drink and chips.
There is a schedule for the day- we have about 100 cub scouts coming.
There will be a blood drive and we would love to have 15 donors to help our community!
