In March of 2002, five dedicated ladies aspired to give a voice to women who currently failed to be represented in the Greek community at the University of South Florida, rendering Sigma Sigma Rho as the first South Asian based sorority at the university. Since its local inception, the sorority has made strides in serving the Tampa Bay community, fostering South Asian cultural awareness, and actin
g as a valuable asset to the Greek Life system at USF. As a social and service organization, Sigma Sigma Rho encourages its sisters to excel in academics, demonstrate leadership, and commit to the community meanwhile providing a rewarding college experience. It is by these exalted standards that enable Sigma Sigma Rho to exemplify a sisterhood that is clearly Distinguished.
