To every immigrant, wherever you are,

I honor you. I thank you for carrying the weight of pain far from your homeland. Thank you for enduring indifference, for refusing to give up in the face of fear, loneliness, and disconnection. Thank you for speaking two languages with a heart divided in two. For holding in one hand the dreams you left behind, and in the other, the ones you’re still building for those you love.

I’m sorry. On behalf of those who, out of ignorance or privilege, have dismissed your struggle. On behalf of those who have reduced your life to a file, a number, or a case. You are more than a statistic. More than a footnote in the news. You are the living face of courage. Your journey is not small. It is sacred.

I’m sorry for the ones who hear your accent but never listen to your story. For those who expect you to adapt without offering even the basic dignity you deserve. Some people see you as a burden, but they forget that your work holds up entire economies. That your hands, quiet and tireless, keep families, industries, and entire systems running, even if your name is never mentioned.

Thank you for sending love in the form of remittances. For doing hard physical work under impossible conditions. For working shifts that leave your body aching while your heart stays focused on homes far away. Thank you for showing up every day, even when part of you wants to quit.

I know most of you left everything you loved, not by choice, but out of necessity. Your exile is not only geographic. It is emotional. It is symbolic. It is deeply human. You have rebuilt your identity in the middle of uncertainty. Migration is not just about changing countries. It is about redefining what it means to belong. It is about living between what was and what could still be.

If you ever doubt your worth, please remember this. The sky itself honors you. Not for how much you have achieved, but for everything you have carried.
