It was Appreciation Day yesterday at The Kathy Castor Centre for Counseling and Wellness. Members of the Centre’s Board and staff gathered to celebrate a remarkable leader and a steadfast champion for women! 💜

We were proud to honor Commissioner Harry Cohen who secured funding for the counseling centre because he recognizes the importance of ensuring that professional mental health services remain available and accessible to those who need them most. The Centre for Women offers free professional counseling to anyone who needs it. Commissioner Cohen’s leadership and advocacy have strengthened our ability to provide counseling that changes—and sometimes saves—lives.

We were honored to have Rep. Kathy Castor, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor and Hillsborough County Commissioner Gwen Myers join us to mark this special occasion. Their presence reflects the strong community commitment to mental wellness and to ensuring that no one has to face life’s most difficult challenges alone.

And what better way to celebrate than by also wishing Congresswoman Castor a very happy birthday! 🎂💜

We are deeply grateful to Congresswoman Castor for making the counseling centre a reality and to Commissioner Cohen and the other members of the Hillsborough County Board of Commissioners for their generous support that will help so many people. ✨
