NAPEC Washington DC 2026

HCSOMP went to Washington DC this week to participate in remembering our fellow fallen officers in the candle light vigil and the memorial service at the capital. The rest of the week our team went through different trainings to support our role in assisting the MET. Finally, we participated in a fun competition cheering on our fellow teams from Florida. Many new friendships were made and new skills learned!

***Received the “Best Team Effort” Award for overall improvement and team work between rider and horse. There was over 100 pairs of horses and riders to choose from. It was a huge honor to be chosen by the Manassas National Battlefield Park Police 🙏🏼🥹💙

The MET & Posse rode the Tampa St. Patty's Day Parade with the TPD Mounted Team on Saturday and hung out at Armature Works after, it was a good day!

Earlier this week, the MET & Posse were activated for a search and we had six teams able to respond with less than twelve hours notice. Onsite, we were integrated with the SIRT team for a search in woods and overgrown areas. The search was successful but not with the outcome we had hoped for.

Gasparilla 2026 is in the books. It was a cold, wet day but we rode it out. Officers from Lake County SO, Orange County SO, Sarasota SO, Lee County SO and of course Tampa PD participated this year. Looking forward to 2027!

We'll be out at the parade this weekend as well, so keep an eye out for us.
