Today, Teddy helps us reflect on the life of St. Francis and our gratitude for the Franciscan Sisters that serve at the mission.

Happy feast of St. Theordore Guerin. St. Theodore Guerin started a children's home and school in Indiana.
Emily helps us reflect on the children in our care today and how we are able to witness and participate in their eyes being opened to beauty in the world.

Happy Birthday to our co-founder, Vincent Pescatore!

Thirty years after his passing, Vincent’s vision and words continue to be woven into the life of Finca del Niño.

Vincent once wrote:
“Jesus Christ is the foundation of our program. he forges our determination, guides our decisions, strengthens us in our trials, and rejoices with us when we witness His achievements. We are very grateful that He has accepted the offering of our wills, and is forming them into His own.”

Today, we are grateful for the gift of Vincent’s life, his faith, and the vision he and Zulena shared more than 30 years ago. That vision continues to provide a home, a family, and a place where children can encounter God’s love.

Happy Feast Day of Santa Teresita. Today will always be an incredibly special day to anyone who has spent time as a missioner at Finca del Niño. It’s the first full day they will spend at what will be home for the next 2.5 years and with a community that quickly becomes more like family.
We are so grateful to everyone that has ever said, “Yes” to serving with our mission and especially grateful for our 5 new missioners who are joining us this year!

Happy Feast of St. Therese! As the patron Saint of missioners and the patroness of our missioner house in Honduras, she holds a very dear place in our hearts. For this reason, Oct 1 is the first full day our new missioners spend at Finca del Niño. Nate helps us reflect on what Santa Teresita means to our mission.

Happy Holy Week from all of us at Farm of the Child and Finca del Niño. We pray this is a week in which you can truly enter into the love and sacrifice Christ offers to each of us.

This week, as we continue to mark the 30th anniversary of our founder Vincent Pescatore’s passing, we reflect once again on his words. They remain a clear example for us to follow - calling us to true dependence on God and deep trust in His will.

"[When a friend] agreed to help handle our mail, he asked why we didn’t have any money in the bank, considering all we do.
I believe that one reason is that God chooses to fortify our faith by making us depend on Him. Like the lilies of the field, we are not to worry. He gives us only what we really need to serve Him, and at the last possible moment, so we learn to trust Him. ***Another reason is that we need more of your help—to build lives for the children.*** God provides for those who trust Him; we pray you will too. Human essence is divine; we testify of God to each other."
