Tampa Eden Project

Tampa Eden Project In an effort to raise awareness of the importance of local agriculture and urban gardening, we install gardens at homes throughout Tampa.

Building gardens to engage communities in the production of their own healthy food and medicine, as well as to nurture connections between people and the natural world. Interested individuals, families and communities will not be denied a garden based on their inability to pay as there is a for-fee component to our ministry. We seek to educate ourselves and our community about how to garden and what we can do to reduce the environmental and social impact of the globalization of our food.

We had our monthly free market at the Ybor St Garden this morning. There was quite a bit to harvest and share with folks too! --> Everglade tomatoes, collards, broccoli, mustard greens, radishes, turnips, nasturtiums, and fresh herbs all given to people from the community. It wasn't our busiest market for obvious reasons, but we were able to share nearly 193 lbs of food with neighbors. We were also able to construct and give away 2 milk crate planters, complete with a cherry tomato plant, a small pepper seedling, and garlic chives.

Another great day at the Ybor St. Garden, hosting the Kinship free market, sharing fresh harvested veggies from the garden, and some anti-viral herbal tea with neighbors. We also got to finally plant a Ruby Supreme Guava tree!

Some photos taken today at our Ybor St Garden work day. I'm having trouble adding them to the album, so just putting up in a post. The weather was amazing! We met some new folks, and harvested some sweet potatoes. It was a great day. 🐓🦋🌿

Our Story

Tampa Eden Project is a grass roots initiative utilizing principles from permaculture and urban agriculture as tools for community engagement in the production of food. We seek to build stronger more self-sufficient communities by building community gardens in low-income areas, while seeking to engage, learn from and teach neighbors about working with natural ecosystems to sustainably produce food.
