FTC Team Duct Tape

Team Duct Tape is an exceptional FIRST Tech Challenge high school level robotics team based in Tampa Bay, FL . TDT is based at AMRoCFabLab .

Our goal is to elevate character,teamwork,and academic and intellectual achievement above all else. We do not seek to win at all costs,but rather to give team members an enduring hands-on STEM experience that will serve them well into their futures. Putting character before competition has yielded a consistently high achieving team that reliably brings home trophies year after year,and is well regarded not just statewide but nationally.

Congratulations to all our amazing campers! Today's Family Showcase, complete with a mini-competition experience was fantastic wrap-up to a great week of introductory CAD, programming, robot building and teamwork building. We had a lot of fun working with our campers and hope to see some of them on the new team we hope to launch this fall!

Our first day of our Summer Robotics Camp was SO much fun! Congrats to all our campers, who were focused, interested, and engaged throughout, exemplifying Gracious Professionalism start to finish. Tomorrow: Introductory CAD, 3D printing, an exploration of servos, motors and more robot building!

We've spent the last few weeks planning for next week's summer camp - from agenda and activities to a specially designed game just for the camp, and now we're ready for campers! We also took some time out of camp readiness today, to talk to a field trip group from Tampa Bay Academy of Hope and show them our previous season bot and how it works.

Registration is open for our upcoming Robotics Camp at AMRoCFabLab . Running July 6-10, our Youth Robotics Camp is organized and run by student team members. Best for youth ages 12-16, Campers will explore robotics through hands on activities including building robots, Computer Aided Design, programming, and robot driving. No prior robotics knowledge is necessary for students. On the afternoon of Friday, July 10th, students will participate in a friendly competition showcase, which parents are invited to attend.

The camp will run daily from 10 am to 3 pm. The cost is $250 for the week, with all proceeds benefitting Team Duct Tape as we kick off our *19th* season this fall!

We had a great end of season celebration today! We recognized our graduating seniors, our Leadership Award nominees,and other special recognition for team members and coaches. We had a great season, making it to the Florida FIRST Tech Challenge State Championship as FTC ROBOT League Inspire Award and Winning Alliance Award winners and earning 2nd Place Sustain Award at State. We're proud of our team and grateful to everyone who helps us along the way throughout the season, including parents, mentors and our sponsors Florida High Tech Corridor , Verizon , the Harden Family Foundation, and Foundation for Community Driven Innovation.

We've already started planning summer projects and programs - look for more info on camps and classes soon! - and we can't wait to do it all over again next season!
