Community classes will take a break for the holidays & heat in July, so stay tuned here for updates.

Classes are always open to all ages & abilities. Wear comfortable shoes, and join us for some contemporary dance fun!

We are less than one day away from chorus novae: National Dance Day celebration!

Introducing our final Tampa Bay choreographer, Lena Jones. Originally from Tallahassee, Lena moved to Tampa to pursue a degree in the arts. While enrolled in the HCC dance program, she was given many opportunities to perform and choreograph pieces for stage and film. The focus of her work is an ongoing investigation of human behavior and highlighting what we perceive as flaws to create something beautiful.

Counting down, five days until chorus novae! Join us this Saturday for a National Dance Day celebration in Plant Park any time between 10am-12pm. Immerse yourself in moving dance sculptures throughout the park!

Our second featured choreographer is Nicole Kanya. Originally from New Jersey, Nicole moved to Tampa, Florida to continue her education at the University of Tampa. During her time there, she was provided multiple opportunities to perform and choreograph for the UT Dance Program. Mainly working with ideas that center around the human experience, Nicole uses her passion for dance to try and reach all groups of people through our uniting ability to relate to the topics of her work.

chorus novae is only six days away! Join us this Saturday for a National Dance Day celebration in Plant Park any time between 10am-12pm. Immerse yourself in moving dance sculptures throughout the park!

Our first featured choreographer is Dakota Kuharich Stevenson. Dakota M. Kuharich {BA, MFA} is a performer, instructor, and creator in the Tampa Bay Area. Dakota is a graduate from the University of Tampa (BA-Applied Dance) and is pursuing a MFA in Choreography at Jacksonville University. Currently, Dakota is the Assistant Director of Dance at the Y Dance Academy in St. Petersburg, FL and the lead dance instructor at Tampa Preparatory School in Tampa, FL. She has been honored to work with local dance companies, projectALCHEMY (St. Petersburg, FL), Poetica Dance (Tampa, FL), and professional practitioners Nita Little, Anne Green Gilbert, Jon Lehrer, and Bill Evans.
