Back to school at Roosevelt Elementary PTA - Tampa this morning. Looking back on what this program has added to the school: we've added stop signs, crosswalks, sidewalks, crossing guards, safer road design all around the school... not to mention the fun and community we get from being out walking with neighbors and friends!

Two years ago, Sidewalk Stompers met with H.B. Plant High School PTSA's student board to help them design a safer walking/biking path through the school's crowded student parking lot. We are so pleased to see our joint plan installed this summer when the parking lot was repaved, providing new crosswalks and walking corridors. Thank you to Plant administrators and Hillsborough County Public Schools for listening to these student voices working to make their school safer! .student.ptsa

Roosevelt Elementary PTA - Tampa made their back-to-school clean up event a safety event, too, with Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital there to give away free bike helmets. Can't wait to see our Rough Rider friends biking or walking to school for another year of Walk to School Wednesday events!
