Taking a break from walking and biking... to talk about walking and biking with Doug Gordon, talking about his terrific new book "Life After Cars." Some stuff we learned: Did you know that an estimated 20-30% of morning car traffic is school drop off? Did you know that only 24% of kids get the recommended amount of daily exercise? What if we freed kids from cars and got them outside, connecting with each other and the world around them?

Over 43% of Roosevelt Elementary PTA - Tampa students walked or biked to school to celebrate National Walk & Bike to School Day! As our first partner school, Roosevelt has made active routes to school a part of their school and PTA programming, incentivizing walking with classroom competitions for recess equipment. Along the way, they've seen more crosswalks, crossing guards, stop signs, and other road improvements installed to support their huge volume of feet on the ground. We ❤ those Rough Riders!
