Gasperilla 1/2 marathon today. Cory and I finished hand in hand. Happy with my splits but pulled in last few miles at my anticipated marathon pace. Pushing our limitations together is something I want to do forever. A little closer to marathon goals!

We're over the moon to introduce you to our phenomenal team of runners who will be representing Rebekah's Angels Foundation at the 2024 Boston Marathon!

Their journey to the starting line represents months of dedication, grit, and passion, but it's more than just a race. This event is a vital part of our yearly fundraising efforts, enabling us to provide trauma therapy to deserving families throughout the year. Their sweat, their miles, their determination, it all translates into hope and healing for those who need it most.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be doing spotlights on each of our runners so that you can get to know and love them as much as we do. We'll share their stories, their motivations, and their dreams. We believe that every step they take brings us closer to a world where no family has to face trauma alone. 🌍💙

We hear the term unresolved trauma, but what does it mean for families❓

Let's break it down:

When a family member carries the weight of unaddressed trauma, it creates a ripple effect, touching the lives of everyone they hold dear. It's like a silent storm that can disrupt relationships, communication, and overall family dynamics.

1️⃣ Emotional Toll: Unresolved trauma can give rise to intense emotions, such as anger, fear, sadness, or even numbness. These emotions may lead to strained relationships, misunderstandings, and difficulty in expressing or receiving support.

2️⃣Interpersonal Challenges: Families impacted by unresolved trauma may struggle with trust issues, feelings of isolation, and difficulties in establishing healthy boundaries. Unresolved trauma can strain connections and make it challenging to build strong, nurturing relationships.

3️⃣Parenting and Generational Impact: Unresolved trauma can heavily impact parenting styles and the way families navigate their roles. It can inadvertently perpetuate cycles of trauma, affecting future generations if left unattended.

Recognizing and addressing these patterns is vital for breaking free from the grip of unresolved trauma. And as daunting as it may feel, you don't have to be alone in it. We are here.💙
