Community Stepping Stones Empowering our community & enriching the lives of youth through the arts!

Through the gracious support of Hillsborough County and the City of Tampa, Community Stepping Stones sits on one of the most beautiful and historic pieces of ground in the Sulphur Springs community. At-risk youth in this community frequently suffer from extraordinary stress that is counterproductive to their ability to learn. Physical and financial immobility limits the development of their social and life skills. Research shows that the performance of the neural pathways of these young people actually decreases as a result of economic and social stress. However, the same research also shows that when these young people are given the means and opportunity to creatively express what matters to them most,
their neural performance rapidly improves. Through a proven and effective integrated arts learning curriculum for Sulphur Springs youth, CSS helps young people gain control over their lives, cultivate positive habits, learn new problem-solving skills, and be inspired to make positive personal choices οΏ½

Our CSS kiddos are singing the rainy days away and dancing up a storm! Nothing like making music, moving to the beat, and having a little fun along the way.

Oneblood's Big Red Bus will be at the Pumpkin Festival and Health Fair Sat Oct 24! Did you know only 3% of people who are eligible to donate blood actually do so? It's not spooky or scary, so we hope to see you there as we make a difference in our community for those who need blood.

Our very first Stepping Stones Storytime was a success!

We had such a wonderful time gathering together for a morning of creativity and connection! We read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and then created dot-inspired artwork, putting our own creative spin on the project and embrace the idea that every mark can be the beginning of something special. πŸ’œ

Stepping Stones Storytime is a FREE early literacy program for little learners and their families, happening on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month at Community Stepping Stones.
