As a member of the General Federation of Women's Club you are part of a sisterhood that was founded in 1890 and chartered the United States Congress in 1901. Junior clubwomen are dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service while being actively engaged in creating families, raising children, pursuing careers, pursuing higher education, and caring fo

r aging family members. In November 1922, the GFWC Florida Junior level of community service was adopted as a division of the Woman’s Club membership with Junior members reporting separately on their activities. Junior clubwomen gained separate status during the 1930-1932 GFWC Florida Administration. For every District Director and CSP Chairman at the Woman’s Club level, there is a Junior level counterpart. In addition to their work in the six GFWC Community Service Program Areas and GFWC Focus Areas, the GFWC Juniors also have Juniors’ Special Project. GFWC Florida Juniors voted to create the slogan, “One Voice for Children” as their States continued emphasis on community service for the sake of children.

The GFWC Lutz- Land O' Lakes Woman's Club recently hosted a meaningful Empty Bowl event to raise awareness of food insecurity in their community.

Fifty members attended and painted bowls to take home as a lasting reminder of the many individuals and families who face hunger each day. Through this special event, the club also donated an incredible $1,200 to its local St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank!

Thank you to these amazing clubwomen for nourishing bodies, restoring dignity, and serving with love. This is what it means to be Royally Served! 💗

🍎 Come check out the Tampa Neighborhood Fridge with me! 🥫💗

Have you ever seen a Little Free Library but for food? That’s exactly what Neighborhood Fridge reminded me of!

These community fridges provide free, accessible food to neighbors who need it, while giving the rest of us an easy way to help keep them stocked.

And Tampa is just one location! Neighborhood Fridge has multiple locations, which means our GFWC Florida clubs can find ways to support or create a fridge in or near their own communities. 👑🍴

We’ll also be supporting Neighborhood Fridge at GFWC Florida Fall Board!

🥫 We will be collecting food and hygiene items to help stock their neighborhood refrigerators and pantries. Take a look at the attached flyer for a list of their most-needed items and start collecting now!

Join GFWC in urging Congress to enact the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps Service Recognition Act to give long overdue federal recognition to the more than 124,000 remarkable women who answered the call to serve during WWII, providing critical support to our nation’s health care system under the strain of war. Recognizing them with honorary veteran status provides a well-deserved tribute to their legacy, sacrifice, and patriotism.
