Our volunteers work alongside schools, preschools, hospitals and other such entities to provide volunteers who read an age appropriate book to our host location children. We provide that same book to the host facility children f
or their future reading experience. Developing a love of reading is one of the most important aspects of life. Studies show that 85% of the brain is developed by age 5. Those children who have not been exposed to quality learning and enriched life experiences are already behind by the time they reach school. Studies further show that children who do not read by the third grade have a higher probability of dropping out of school and falling into a life of crime than those who are reading at or above their grade level. Reading and enjoying it is the key to achieving! Who and what is Come Read With Me, Inc. Everyone from the Board members all the way down to the volunteers of Come Read With Me, Inc. are individuals who love to read and who believe that reading is the key to success! No one receives a salary, everyone is a volunteer and we are proud to say that your donation fully goes to the program. We are a registered corporation with the State of Florida and with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501©3 non-profit entity. Our IRS EIN is 47-2231167 and we are listed in the Guidestar -approved charities database. We are happy to provide you with additional information or copies of our documentation upon request. work? administration meets with the host facility teacher, childcare worker or administrator prior to the volunteer visit to determine the best book choice for the selected host site. The book choice is based upon the age of the students, the topic being studied and or other factors agreed upon by Come Read With Me, Inc. and the host facility. provides a volunteer to visit the host facility. The volunteer will read the agreed upon book to the classroom or host facility children. At the end of the visit, each child in that host group goes home with a copy of the book that was read to them. By taking home the book that has just had read to them, they are encouraged to not only read the book again and again, but to discuss what they have read with their family and friends. Children love to share the stories they have heard and there is no greater way to share that story than to have the book in their hand and to be able to read it themselves! Where does the money for Come Read With Me, Inc. come from? You and donors like you! Caring people who not only love to read themselves, but also want to instill a love of reading in others, especially children! Reading unlocks the world of imagination and success in life. There are many ways that you can donate and it is surprisingly easy to do so.

3. Your gift can be doubled if your company has a matching program. Check with your HR folks for the specifics. They will need the EIN number listed above to process this request.
4. Do you purchase items via Amazon? They have a program that allows you to pick Come Read With Me, Inc. as your charity of choice. They will then send CRWM $0.05 of all money you spend with them. Costs you nothing more and is helping us provide the books so desired by children.
5. If your organization or friends would like to do a fundraising event, we would love to have this help! A representative will come and make a presentation to you, your organization or friends about who we are and how you can help.
6. You can make a bequest to benefit Come Read With Me, Inc. in your estate planning. Volunteers
Volunteers are so important in this mission. All volunteers must pass a criminal history background check processed via the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the National Department of Law Enforcement. There is a nominal cost for this background screening. How is my gift used? officers and staff are all volunteers. No one receives a paycheck! 100% of your tax deductable contribution goes to the program. Working with the educators or administration of the host location, we agree upon a book that is appropriate for the age of the children, the subject matter being taught during the scheduled visit and make a strong effort to coordinate the book message with the donating business interest. As an example, Good Night, Good Night Construction Site is a book all about the trucks and machines used during the day to do construction. This book ties in perfectly with preschool discussion on building, transportation and the work done in making new schools, etc. It is also an excellent book to be sponsored by our building and transportation organizations. Each book has a sticker prominently displayed that says:
