Florida Alpha Parliamentarians Unit of Tampa will meet this Saturday, March 2, from 9:30-11:30 at Florida Hospital (now known as Advent Hospital), Meeting Room Camelot A, 3100 Fletcher Avenue, Tampa.

Member Dan Chesnut will provide a hands-on opportunity to practice and increase your parliamentary knowledge. Here's what you can expect:

Real Time Practice for Chairs and Members
Lightning Rounds for Phrasing and Decision Making

This month's training session is designed to give all in attendance the opportunity to practice using the preferred phrases and recognizing the correct procedure in simulated 'real time' meeting scenarios. These "lightning rounds" will rotate members of a fictitious club into scenarios to gain more experience making main motions and amendments, followed by a short "debrief". There will not be much time for discussion. You'll be too busy being in meetings!

Guests are welcome. Free parking and free admission.

Florida Alpha Parliamentarians Unit meets this Saturday, December 1, at 9:30 am at Florida Hospital Fletcher, 3100 East Fletcher Avenue, Tampa 33613. We'll be in Camelot A Meeting Room -- next to the cafeteria. This is our annual holiday celebration meeting. Everyone should bring a food item to share. The program -- by two very knowledgeable and creative members -- will be both educational and entertaining. So come, bring a friend and plan to enjoy your Saturday morning learning something new about parliamentary procedure! 😊

NOTE: There's construction at the hospital site, so be sure to follow the signs to the FREE parking garage.

There's still time to register for the Parliamentary Workshop sponsored by Florida Alpha Parliamentarians Unit of Tampa. Workshop will be Saturday, October 6, at Florida Hospital, 3100 E Fletcher Ave, Tampa 33613. Registration begins at 8:30 am. Program from 9 am to Noon. Learn the ABCs of Parliamentary Procedure, the importance of Bylaws and governing documents, and How to Run an Effective Meeting. If you are a president or other officer of any political, religious, civic or other group, this Workshop is for YOU!
