π Gandy Civic Association | 2025 Community Recap π
2025 was a year of connection, celebration, and community pride at the Gandy Civic Center and throughout our neighborhood.
This year alone, our Civic Center hosted 58 celebrations β including birthdays, a preschool graduation, baby showers, graduations, weddings, celebrations of life, and family reunions. We also welcomed several high school award banquets, a craft fair and a community market, a crochet conference making the Civic Center a true gathering place.
π§π§ Creating memories for kids & families:
We were proud to host two huge, free community events β an Easter Egg Hunt and Trunk or Treat β made possible thanks to Elevate Martial Arts and amazing volunteers.
π£οΈ Community voices mattered:
Neighbors came together through meetings and were heard with the county and city, ensuring SOGβs concerns and ideas had a seat at the table.
ποΈ Investing in our shared spaces:
An Eagle Scout pergola project enhanced our grounds
A Girl Scout bat house project supported local wildlife
Robinson High School Football helped restore our floors
The community stepped up with donations for critical center repairs
Troop 56 found a new meeting home at the Civic Center
π° Community pride on display:
The Gandy Civic Center was featured on the news, highlighting the strength of neighbors working together.
π± Giving back & caring for SOG:
Peninsular Prep students helped keep our grounds clean through trash pickup
Hope on the Horizon served many pounds of food and provided services to neighbors in need
Community SOGarden continued beautifying the grounds and building connections
None of this happens without dedicated volunteers, supportive partners, and neighbors who care deeply about SOG.
As we look ahead to 2026, weβre excited to build on this momentum with more visible projects, more family-friendly events, and more ways to get involved.
