Each week, Nyla counts down until Lyssa’s visit, making sure everyone in her life knows what’s coming. She tells her moms, her teachers, and her friends that Thursdays are their days. And if there is ever any question about where Thursday ranks in Nyla’s week, she’ll happily clear it up for you.

Their time together is filled with laughter, games, conversations, and plenty of silliness, but Lyssa also makes space for the little moments that matter.

Together, they talk about their intentions for the week, practice positive affirmations, and remind each other of the importance of being kind, not only to the people around them, but to themselves, too. For example, an affirmation might begin with something thoughtful like, “I am kind,” or “I am important,” only for Nyla to decide that being the best Big/Little duo ever deserves a place on the list, too. (As it should!!!) More than anything, Lyssa gives Nyla a space where she can simply be herself.
