That’s a Wrap on Another Incredible School Year!

As students and teachers head into a well-deserved summer break, we're reflecting on an amazing year spent learning, cooking, and growing together.

This school year, Where Love Grows proudly:

Served 4,256 meals
Taught 357 young chefs through our mobile cooking classes
Hosted 39 events across the Tampa Bay community

From stirring sauces and building burgers to sharing meals and making memories, every classroom, cafeteria, and family table helped make this year special.

A huge thank you to our school partners, volunteers, teachers, staff, and families who welcomed us into their communities and helped make this impact possible.

Have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer! We can't wait to get back in the kitchen and around the table with you next school year.

Because when love grows, so does community.

Today we celebrate the women who lead with love, give endlessly, and hold families and communities together every single day.

To the moms, grandmothers, teachers, mentors, volunteers, and mother figures who pour their hearts into others we thank you. Your kindness, strength, and compassion help create the safe, loving spaces where children can grow, learn, and thrive.

At Where Love Grows, we see firsthand how powerful a mother’s love can be around the dinner table, in the classroom, and throughout the community.

To close out this season’s Walk to End Hunger, we traded the sidewalks for the water and we boarded the beautiful eBoats Tampa for one last unforgettable community gathering.

What started as a simple idea bringing people together to move, connect, and support the fight against childhood hunger has grown into something truly special. From downtown walks to Riverwalk conversations and now cruising Tampa’s waterways, every step has helped build awareness, community, and hope.

This season reminded us that the fight against hunger isn’t just about meals served it’s about bringing people together around a shared purpose.

To everyone who walked, donated, volunteered, partnered, and supported us along the way… thank you.

And don’t worry — this may be the last walk of the season, but we’re just getting started.

3 Classes. 3 Recipes. One Incredible Experience.

We wrapped up an amazing 3-part cooking class series at Sulphur Springs Elementary and what a run it was.

🍗 BBQ Chicken
🍔 Burgers
🍝 Lasagna to close it out

But this was about so much more than the food…
It was kids laughing, playing Mary Mack, learning new skills, and sitting down together to enjoy what they created.

Every class was filled with energy, confidence, and connection but none of it happens without our incredible volunteers who show up and make it all possible. You are the superheroes behind it all.

We’re grateful for every moment… and we’ll be back.

🦸‍♂️ Happy National Superhero Day! 🦸‍♀️

Today, we’re celebrating the superheroes we see every day.

In our cooking classes, these kids step into the kitchen and become superheroes in their own way by building confidence, learning new skills, and creating something they’re proud of.

But the real superheroes are our volunteers.

The ones who show up, give their time, share their hearts, and make moments like this possible. You’re the reason these kids feel empowered, supported, and inspired.

At Where Love Grows, we believe being a superhero doesn’t require a cape, just a willingness to show up and make a difference.

Tampa Downtown Streetcar Tour

Join us on Friday, 4/24 as we hop aboard the Tampa Downtown Streetcar!

Meet at Poe Plaza at 12:00 PM
From there, we’ll walk together to the stop on Franklin St. in front of the YMCA and ride through Downtown Tampa and Ybor City.

Tours are free, but a recommended $10 donation is always appreciated to help support our mission to fight childhood hunger.

Come enjoy the ride, the history, and the community.

Burger Day at Sulphur Springs Elementary!

The kids asked for burgers… and we delivered.

Our young chefs at Sulphur Springs Elementary got hands-on learning how to prep, season, and cook their own burgers from start to finish. The smiles said it all!

And just as important, we made sure everyone had a seat at the table. For one student who doesn’t eat meat, we switched it up with eggs so they could still be part of the full experience.

It’s not just about the recipe... It’s about making sure every child feels included, valued, and proud of what they create.

Our founder had an unforgettable day at Yankees Spring Training alongside her incredible Yankee Fantasy Camp teammates — a group that means so much more than just baseball.

These aren’t just teammates… they’re supporters, believers, and major contributors to Where Love Grows. Their generosity and heart help us bring meals, cooking classes, and meaningful moments to kids and families every day.

It’s a beautiful reminder that community can come from anywhere — even the baseball field — and when it does, it has the power to make a real impact.
