Sun24 Sun24 is a non-profit solar organization that works with Catholic dioceses in Africa, distributing solar lights to families without electricity.

The Solution

1.3 billion people in developing countries live without electricity. Most use crude kerosene lamps for light. This damages their health, deepens their poverty, contributes significantly to climate change, and leads to a million deaths each year. A simple $4 solar light can replace a family’s dependence on dangerous, costly and unhealthy kerosene lamps. Sun24 distributes these lights to African families regardless of religious affiliation. Need, not creed.
