Julie Highsmith asked her 6th graders at Barrington Middle School to reflect on the school year by sharing their favorite memories. She shared one of their responses with Brian Schank, our Senior Education Programs Specialist, who serves as her coach/supporter for everything “EQ.” ❤️

Community Building Sessions™ (CBS) is one of our signature programs; providing educators with a framework to help them create a positive classroom community. When an incredible teacher like Julie facilitates the CBS model with integrity and consistency, students develop a sense of belonging and feel like significant members of the group.

CBS teaches and reinforces crucial relationship-building and social skills, such as cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, empathy, and self-control.

It’s incredible to observe the ✨magic✨that can happen when adults take the time and care to cultivate an environment that fosters ✨EQ✨(emotional intelligence) skills. Julie, we’re so proud of the positive impact you’re making on your middle school students! Congrats on a great year! 🎉

🎉We’re incredibly proud of this year’s Teens In Action™️ cohort! Last night, we celebrated these tremendously talented teens and had the opportunity to hear about the highlights of their experiences through service site presentations.

✨THANK YOU✨to the dedicated teens who poured their time and talent into the program, their encouraging families, and the supportive service site partners who helped make this year a success. It’s amazing to witness how Teens In Action™️ takes teens to another level by building their emotional intelligence, expanding their leadership skills and opening their eyes to how civic engagement can positively impact their community. Kudos and congrats! ❤️

Teachers have a lot going on at the moment.❤️ Our specialists provide EQ-related support, guidance and resources throughout the school year, but we love treating these amazing educators to a little something special during Teacher Appreciation Week. We surprised our partners with gifts and a presentation that tie back to EQ, wellness and kindness, and as you can see from the snapshots, we had a lot of fun in the process! 🎉

Teachers, we appreciate you more than you can imagine. Each day, you help your students build critical skills they’ll take with them throughout their lives. Frameworks of Tampa Bay is honored and thrilled to be part of the journey. 🫶🏽

Join us in welcoming Ana Harrington, Education Programs Specialist and the newest addition to our Frameworks’ team! 🎉

Ana has worked in a myriad of educational settings; from boarding schools to learning and development roles in corporate America. Her truest love came in the form of teaching English and Film Analysis to high school students. She realized English and Film became a medium in which to teach them emotional intelligence through, and thus began her passion.

She has worked with numerous students to increase their resilience, self-awareness and emotional regulation, most recently with at-risk students from low-income areas. In addition to teaching, she has acted as a supervisor and coach to master’s students receiving their teaching license and written scripts for professional development companies that model empathy training in the workplace.

“I believe there are no skills more important than those gained through enhancing one’s emotional intelligence. I loved teaching students this firsthand but wanted to make a difference on a larger scale. Framework’s mission allows me to reach more students, by reaching those who are with them daily. If I can positively impact one person, and they can in turn positively impact one student, then step by step we make the difference. If we can equip our kids with the ability to self-reflect, be empathetic and communicate effectively, then we will leave the world a better place than we found it.”
