Recently, our Teaching Tools Resource Center - HEF wrapped up its second annual Summer School Shop, helping 59 Hillsborough County Public Schools teachers from 20 summer school sites stock up on classroom essentials! Together, they received more than $27,000 in supplies and resources, with an average shop value of $462 per teacher.

Plus, 12 educators checked out STEAM kits from our STEAM Lending Library to make summer learning even more engaging!

Hillsborough County voters will be asked an important question on the November 2026 ballot: should the superintendent continue to be appointed by the elected School Board, or become an elected position?

This decision has long-term implications for our public schools and involves questions of leadership, accountability, candidate qualifications, and governance for one of the largest school districts in the country.
