Live for 24 Foundation "Live for 24" is an organization dedicated to providing scholarships for students and student-athletes pursuing higher education.

Live for 24 is a foundation honoring Melissa and Lynn Vanderhall and Janel Simpson by providing support for youth community outreach and fund student scholarships. The organization was created to celebrate the lives of University of Tampa student-athlete, Melissa Vanderhall, her mother Lynn Vanderhall, and dear friend Janel Simpson, who were tragically lost on August 12, 2017. Melissa, the first

of her family to graduate from college, excelled athletically and academically at The University of Tampa and then went on to accomplish her dream of becoming a Physician Assistant. Despite being one of UT's most prolific student-athletes of all time, she will be remembered most for her generous heart, her infectious smile, and her ability to make everyone feel loved. Janel, a graduate of the University of Buffalo with a degree in Business Administration, was working as a secretary at Norwell Health. Janel had the ability to make anyone laugh, and created happiness wherever she went. She was loved by many, and will be missed by all. Lynn, a happy, loving mother, was devoted to her children and her work caring for children at Hempstead's Family and Children's Association. She always put others before herself; she was a shining example of what it means to be a selfless, kind-hearted mother, friend, co-worker, sister, wife, and daughter. All three women were shining lights to everyone who knew them, and it’s our hope to honor their legacy by creating a bright future for others.

It’s that time of year again 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏾🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️

We invite you to run with us, in spirit, on October 24, 2021, record your 5K distance and time using an approved running app and submit your results before midnight on race day. Runners will receive a finisher certificate and winners will be announced in each age category shortly after results are calculated.

Who is the Livefor24 Foundation?

The Livefor24 Foundation is dedicated to supporting youth community outreach and funding student scholarships. We believe by working together as her former teammates and close friends, alongside trusted community partners, we can change the story of a child’s life by providing life-enriching opportunities through meaningful service and scholarships. The foundation was created to celebrate the lives of University of Tampa student-athlete, Melissa Vanderhall, her mother Lynn Vanderhall, and dear friend Janel Simpson, who were tragically lost on August 12, 2017.
