Established in 2002, Heidi's Legacy is a Tampa Bay Area based nonprofit, 501(c)(3) charitable organi

Each year, millions of animals are abandoned and must be euthanized throughout the United States due to pet overpopulation and lack of shelter space. Since its inception, Heidi's Legacy has rescued, fostered, spayed/neutered, and placed many companion animals, saving them from a heartless and unnecessary death.

How is this Gorgeous Stoney not adopted yet. Where is his family...he is ready to go. Neutered/microchipped/fully vaccinated and on flea & Heartworm meds.

Would do best with another dog in the home, complete fenced in yard required and he will need to complete obedience training (great bonding time).

If interested in fostering or foster-to-adopt please apply.

Kato got so much attention...can anyone step up for Kona too?!?!?! 🥺

Meet Kona! 🐾
Breed: Shepherd Mix
Age: 5 years old
Personality: Sweet, resilient, and playful!
About Kona:
Kona is a sweet, resilient Shepherd mix with the most charming, expressive ears you'll ever see! Diagnosed with spina bifida as a puppy, she has slightly wonky back legs, but that doesn't stop her from enjoying life. She gets around just fine with light, regular exercise to keep her leg muscles strong. Short play sessions and easy strolls are her sweet spot—no long, strenuous walks for this girl, as her legs can get sore.
Social Life & Compatibility:
Dogs: Loves to play! She just needs a little time to warm up to new canine friends. She thrives best with playful companions and prefers a home without dominant dogs.
Cats & Kids: She is wonderful with both cats and children!
Ideal Home:
Kona would do best in a home with a fenced backyard for safe, light playtime and a setup without a lot of stairs to keep her comfortable and mobile.
If you are looking for a gentle, loving companion who will steal your heart, Kona is ready to meet you!

💜💜💜SAFE💜💜💜

Hi my name is Kato and I am 4 yrs old and 115 lbs. I firmly believe I’m a lap dog, and I come with some important baggage…

My rubber ducky collection. 🦆😂

I LOVE my duckies. I’ll even throw one at you when I want to play—and my aim is suspiciously good.

A few other things about me:

💦 Dirty paws? I’ll put MYSELF in the bathtub and wait for service.
🐱 Plot twist: my best friend is a CAT. 😂
🗣️ I talk, I howl, and I definitely have opinions.
🥜 Peanut butter = life.
🥕 I also eat vegetables because apparently I’m sophisticated.
🛏️ I sleep on my back like I worked a double shift.
❤️ And I will absolutely try to fit all 115 lbs of me into your personal space for cuddles.

And between you and me…if somebody happened to have room for BOTH me and my cat bestie, I’d be one very happy 115-lb boy. ❤️ I mean, I’m already losing my couch—I’d really rather not lose my bestie too. 🥹🐾

I’m house trained, know my commands, LOVE people, and grew up going to the office every day with my person—so I’m pretty darn good at playing when it’s playtime and just hanging out when it’s not.

One important thing: I’m wary of boy dogs, so homes with male dogs will only be considered if your guy is EXTREMELY docile.

🏡 Foster OR Foster-to-Adopt
❤️ Foster-to-Adopt preferred
⏰ I NEED SOMEWHERE BY SUNDAY
📍 Tampa Bay

So…who has room for 115 lbs of handsome, a collection of rubber duckies, and maybe my cat bestie too? 😂🦆🐱❤️

Axel is safe

🤍 MEET AXEL — 103 LBS OF ABSOLUTE SWEETHEART! 🤍

Heidi’s Legacy Dog Rescue would love to give this handsome boy the chance he deserves, but we need a foster or foster-to-adopt home for Axel by THIS THURSDAY.

Axel is approximately 6½–7 years old, about 103 lbs, fully up to date on his vaccinations, and quite honestly, just a complete doll of a dog.

🐾 Friendly
🐾 Easygoing disposition
🐾 Comfortable with handling at Animal Services
🐾 An all-around wonderful boy who just needs someone to give him a chance ❤️

And there is one thing we already know will make Axel VERY happy…

🎾 THIS BOY LOVES TO PLAY FETCH! 🎾

His previous owner would even hit golf balls for Axel to fetch and bring back. 😂 Give him a ball, some playtime, and someone willing to keep throwing it, and you’ve made his day!

At almost seven years old, Axel deserves the opportunity to settle into a home where he can be loved, cared for, played with, and finally enjoy the best years of his life. A comfy place to sleep, a family to belong to, and plenty of games of fetch sound pretty perfect to us. ❤️

Heidi’s Legacy wants to be able to say YES to Axel, but we cannot do it without a foster home.

🏡 FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED
📍 Tampa Bay Area
⏰ DEADLINE: THURSDAY

If you can open your home to Axel, even temporarily, please submit an application ASAP:

If you can’t foster, PLEASE SHARE. Axel doesn’t need everyone to say yes — he just needs the right person to see this post and say, “Come home, big guy.” 🤍🐾

Let’s find Axel his person. 🎾❤️

Foster or Foster-to-Adopt

Meet Tater, Stoney and Rocky

Tot has been placed...still need one for Tater, Stoney and Rocky

Tator & Tot were found running along the highway on Sunday. Thankfully, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stopped to save them. Unfortunately, the person who rescued them is homeless and wasn't in a position to keep them long-term.

We were able to secure a temporary foster while we got them settled, fed, and safe, but their temporary placement ends tomorrow, and they urgently need somewhere to go.

Tater and Tot are estimated to be around 4 month old. Their breed is anyone's guess... maybe a little German Shepherd, maybe Manchester Terrier, maybe Miniature Pinscher... or maybe a fun mix of all of the above! Whatever they are, they're absolutely adorable.

✨ They're sweet.
✨ They're well-mannered.
✨ They're gentle.
✨ They're happy little puppies who just want to be loved.

Right now, all they need is a safe place to land.

Rocky and Stoney are 5-month-old German Shepherd "fur siblings" who are fully house-trained with dog door, compatible with other dogs. If you are looking to adopt or foster out these puppies here is the essential information you need right now.

We're looking for either:
🏡 A foster home, or
❤️ A foster-to-adopt home.

If you've been thinking about fostering, this is the perfect opportunity to make a huge difference in two little lives. Rescue will provide guidance and support—you simply provide a safe, loving place while we work toward their forever future.

Please help us share this post. The right person may not have seen them yet.

If you're interested or have questions, please apply.

We'd love nothing more than to see these boys sleeping safely in a home tomorrow night instead of wondering where they'll go next. 🐾💕

FOSTER FOUND - THANK YOU FOR ALL THOSE THAT APPLIED AND REACHED OUT

URGENT Foster or Foster to Adopt Needed!!
DEADLINE is Thursday before current owner takes to animal services.

🐾 Hi! I'm Winnie! 🧸❤️
I'm a 5-year-old, 45-pound Labradoodle, and if you're looking for a best friend who's always happy to be by your side... I think we should meet!
My favorite thing in the world is being with my people. If you're cooking, I'm supervising. If you're watching TV, I'm cuddling nearby. If you're headed to another room... don't worry, I'll happily come with you! They don't call us "Velcro dogs" for nothing.

I'm house-trained, neutered, sleep through the night like a gentleman, and I know toys and bones are for chewing—not furniture or shoes. I love stuffed toys, enjoy hanging out with other dogs, and have even lived peacefully with cats.

I'm a sensitive soul. Loud noises like thunderstorms and fireworks can make me nervous, and I may be a little shy when meeting some men. But if you give me a little patience, I'll reward you with a lifetime of loyalty and love.
❤️ Right now, I need a hero.

Due to an unexpected housing situation, I need a foster or foster-to-adopt home by Thursday or Friday of this week. I don't need anything fancy—just a safe place, kind people, and a chance to show you what a wonderful boy I am.
Could that be with you?

Please consider opening your home to me, even temporarily. And if you can't, sharing my story could help me find the person who's meant to be my forever family.
Love, Winnie 🐾
