The Franciscan Center, Tampa is very busy with dedicated volunteers improving the green areas surrounding the building.

Ms. Anna Ethington is planting tropical plants as part of the Discovery Activity for the upcoming Summer Camp- Rainforest Falls.

Ms. Joan Rini, Faith Formation Director at Saint Mary Catholic Parish provided us with all the decorations and manuals for the summer camp!

Koletin Washington, our summer intern from Career Source, donated all the balloons from his birthday/graduation party. We will use them to decorate several arches for the rainforest.

We welcomed the teens, chaperones and two priests from Mission Krewe 2026. Participants come from three parishes within the Archdiocese of Portland, Oregon under the direction of Fr. Michael Vuky and from the parishes of St. Martin de Porres, St. Ann Church and St. Brendan Church in Dorchester, Massachusetts under the direction of Fr. Chris Palladino, JCL. They are staying at the Franciscan Center from June 19 - 26. Each day, several groups are going to do service projects at different non-profits in the Tampa/Clearwater area. They are a blessing making a positive difference wherever they go!

Am I Looking for the Good?

As we pause in this quiet moment, it could be helpful to think about what it is we are looking for. If we look for goodness in any situation, we will no doubt find it. Perhaps it is the person trying to help, the joy in someone's countenance, or the beauty of sunlight lighting up the garden. Where is the goodness in your life today?

Prayer: God of all goodness, Giver of all good things, open my eyes to the goodness all around me, especially when it is difficult to see. Help me be a sign of your goodness in this world. Amen.

Be Grateful, Act Grateful

Our life and breath are given to us, a gift. As you pause at this moment, reflect on other gifts you might have received. How might you act grateful for those gifts? It could be as simple as looking at beautiful things because you are grateful for the gift of sight. Or you might call a friend as you give thanks for the ability to speak.

Prayer: Generous and loving God, I thank you for all I have received from you and from the people in my life. Help me to act grateful by sharing with others. Amen

β€οΈπŸš’ The Franciscan Center is deeply grateful to Madeira Beach Fire Rescue for its generous support of Operation Restore through the successful Legends Never Die 5k run.

Special thanks to Chief Belk, Trish Eaton and the entire Madeira Beach Fire Department crew for their dedication and commitment to those who serve our communities and nation.

At the May 27th City of Madeira Beach Commission Meeting, Executive Director Brian Lemoi, Rev. Rick Malivuk and Mary Beth Sabo were honored to receive the proceeds from the event in the presence of Mayor Ann-Marie Brooks, members of City Leadership Team and City Council. The funds will provide up to 15 scholarships for First Responders, Retired First Responders Active Duty Military, Retired Military and Veterans who have experienced traumatic incidents in service to our nation and communities.

Together, we are helping those who have protected others to find healing, restoration and hope.

Thank you to the Madeira Beach Fire Department, Mayor Brooks, City Leadership Team and City Council for supporting those who have sacrificed so much in their service to others. β€οΈπŸ™
