Perseverance opens the door to homeownership 💛

Ms. Shedrick began her journey with Solita’s House in 2022 with a dream of becoming a homeowner. Determined to make that dream a reality, she worked hard to improve her credit, strengthen her budgeting skills, and grow her savings while preparing herself for the responsibilities of homeownership.

Despite facing challenges along the way, Ms. Shedrick remained committed to her goal. Her persistence paid off when she qualified for the City of Tampa's DARE to Own the Dream Program, securing $50,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance, along with an additional $13,000 from her lender. She successfully closed on her newly built townhouse and is now enjoying the rewards of homeownership. 🏡✨

Her story is a powerful reminder that with preparation, determination, and the right support, the dream of homeownership is within reach.
