We’re excited to share that The Apiary Sanctuary Foundation will be joining Foundations To Freedom September 6th event to raise awareness and support for our shared mission.

As a new organization, we are committed to launching our first recovery residence in Central Florida, creating safe housing for individuals who have completed sobriety programs. This aligns closely with the incredible work Foundations To Freedom is already doing through their recovery homes in Volusia County.

At the event, we’ll also be showcasing 100 handcrafted handbags made by Idalina Alcantara Taylor through Connective Curations, LLC. Each purchase directly supports our fundraising efforts to make this vision a reality.

Understanding the Journey of Recovery: Our Experience at an Open AA Meeting

Today, Emilio and I had the privilege of attending an open Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting. As part of The Apiary Sanctuary Foundation’s mission to support those in recovery—especially displaced women, foster adults, and veterans—we believe it’s crucial to truly understand the challenges people face in their fight against addiction.

Addiction is a complex disease that affects individuals from all walks of life. Whether it’s alcohol, drugs, or gambling, the journey to recovery requires support, understanding, and a community that fosters healing. Many people struggle in silence, but resources are available to help them take the first step toward recovery.

Organizations like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and Gamblers Anonymous (GA) provide essential support networks. They offer safe, nonjudgmental spaces where individuals can share, heal, and grow. If you or someone you know is struggling, there are free, confidential meetings available worldwide, both in person and online.
