For a working parent, knowing your child is safe, cared for and learning while you’re on the job can make a world of difference.

Thanks to the generous support of Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County, LSF Palm Beach Head Start can offer year-round childcare and extended hours that give families the flexibility they need to work and grow while knowing their children are safe and happy.

CSC provides more than $4 million annually to support our Palm Beach Head Start program. Behind that number, you will find real families working hard to build a brighter future. Real parents who are able to secure a full-time job. Real children building the skills they need for school and life. And a very real local economy strengthened when parents have access to reliable, high-quality care.

To our partners at CSC: thank you for believing in Palm Beach County’s children and families and for helping us ensure children are ready for school and prepared for life. It is a pleasure getting to

We’ve added three new faces to the LSF Board of Directors, and we could not be more excited about the experience and perspective they’re bringing with them.

Emma Mazzeo, Dr. Leslie Judd and Dr. Chris Card come from very different professional backgrounds, but each has built a career around leadership, service and strengthening the communities around them.

From technology and innovation to education and child welfare, their experience reflects the wide range of work happening every day across LSF. Our board helps guide where we’re going while making sure our mission remains at the heart of that work and we know this group will help us do that and more.

Please join us in welcoming Emma, Leslie and Chris to the LSF Board of Directors.

For many of our families, the back-to-school season means added stress about affording a long list of school supplies. At LSF, we believe every family and every child deserves to start the school year with the things they need to succeed.

This year, our Back-to-School Donation Drive brought in more than 200 backpacks filled with school supplies, thanks to the generosity of supporters like you.

Your support is helping children across Florida start the school year prepared, confident and ready to learn. We are grateful to everyone who stepped in to give our families a helping hand.

What should kids eat to help them stay energized and focused throughout the school day? For busy parents, the answer doesn’t have to be complicated.

“The goal is not perfection; it’s consistency and simplicity,” says Maves Ranola, LSF Head Start director of nutrition services. “The winning meals are the ones that actually get eaten.”

In the latest blog in our back-to-school series, Maves shares a realistic approach to healthy school meals, from getting through the morning rush to packing lunches kids will actually eat. She also offers some reassurance for parents of picky eaters and a reminder that one uneaten lunch or fast-food night doesn’t undo healthy habits.

At LSF Head Start, getting ready for the first day of school means coming together for our annual pre-service events. And while it’s hard to compete with the excitement of the first day of school, our teams come pretty close!

Each August, Head Start staff across Florida gather to reconnect, prepare and get ready for the year ahead. We talk through our focus areas, make plans for a successful school year and take time to remind our staff that their well-being matters, too.

We’re fortunate to have community leaders, government officials, LSF leadership and even former Head Start students join us along the way. Thank you to all of our guests and team members who helped make this year’s pre-service events a success.

Sustainable growth is one of LSF's key strategic priorities, and we're excited to share another example of that vision in action.

Beginning Oct. 1, LSF will assume responsibility for the Case Management Organization serving Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties, expanding our child welfare services and existing footprint across Northwest Florida.

This opportunity reflects our commitment to growing thoughtfully and strategically—building on the strong foundation we've already established in the Florida Panhandle through Head Start, Guardianship, youth shelters, SNAP services and Community Counseling programs.

In one week, you could hear something that has the power to save someone's life. Will you be part of the conversation?

On Aug. 12, the St. Johns Zero Su***de Summit will bring together state legislators, behavioral health professionals, educators, community leaders, advocates and individuals with lived experience for a day focused on one of the most important challenges facing our community.

Throughout the day, attendees will hear from local and national experts, learn about evidence-based approaches to su***de prevention and hear firsthand from people whose stories remind us why this work matters. After attending, you'll leave with practical tools you can put into action.

Tickets are still available, but not for long. Reserve your spot today and join us as we work to build a stronger, more connected St. Johns County - https://lsfhealthsystems.org/zero-su***de-stjohns/
