AI is changing education quickly, but student success still depends on thoughtful leadership, responsible use, strong teaching, and real-world connection said three of Tampa Bay’s leading superintendents at the Future-Ready Forum.
Superintendent Van Ayres of Hillsborough County Public Schools, Superintendent Kevin Hendrick of Pinellas County Schools, and Superintendent Fred Heid of Polk County Public Schools discussed how their districts are approaching AI: from supporting teachers and improving operational efficiency to strengthening digital responsibility, critical thinking, and personalized learning.
They also highlighted the lasting value of Junior Achievement. From the foundational experiences of Muma BizTown and Finance Park to the career-connected learning of 3DE, these partnerships help students build confidence, communication skills, collaboration, and a clearer view of what is possible beyond the classroom.
As Superintendent Heid shared, the value of 3DE for students, educators, and the community is “unmatched compared to any other initiative we’ve ever launched” in his district.
