A Hillsborough County event was held at the Tampa Center, bringing together small construction businesses to learn about opportunities through the Homeowner Repair and Reconstruction Program. The event introduced businesses to upcoming repair and reconstruction projects and opportunities to partner with the County, Ducky Recovery, and Dynamic Group.

During the event, CSTB's Business Services Consultant Supervisor Kristal Feacher spoke about the workforce services and resources available to support businesses with their hiring and training needs. Our team also hosted an informational table where we connected with attendees, answered questions, and shared information about our employer services.

Through USF Youth Experiences, we provided 19 youth from across the Tampa Bay area the opportunity to attend immersive career exploration camps. Featured is the Anatomy of a Roller Coaster Camp, where students learned about the mechanics, physics, and engineering behind roller coasters while getting to use cutting-edge technology like 3D printing to build their own coasters.

"This reinforces that young people need the experiences to be able to grow, and I think what is important is making sure our opportunity youth are attached to these experiences so they can understand career pathways, also so they can develop the meaningful connections in the industries that are going to help them thrive and grow," said Director of Youth Programs Leondra Foster.

Access to hands-on experiences can be life-changing for young people. Programs like USF Youth Experiences give students the chance to explore careers, develop meaningful skills, and build the confidence and connections needed to pursue their goals.

When a community comes together, meaningful impact happens.

We were proud to be part of PERC’s 28th Annual Showcase of Services, where community partners, employers, service providers, and organizations came together with a shared purpose: creating a stronger network of support for justice-involved individuals.

With 322 attendees connecting with resources ranging from employment and education to legal assistance, housing, mental health services, financial literacy, and more, the event showed the power of bringing resources together in one place.

The impact came from the collective effort of everyone in the room. Each organization brought unique resources and expertise to the table, creating a broader network of support for justice-involved individuals and showing what is possible when our community works together.

When organizations share resources, build relationships, and connect people to the right opportunities and services, those connections can create lasting impact far beyond the event itself.

The “village mindset” was truly in action. No one organization can do it alone, but when our community comes together, we can create more pathways, strengthen support systems, and help individuals build a stronger future.
