October is a special month as we celebrate Head Start Awareness Month and recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This week's newsletter highlights the incredible impact of Head Start and Early Head Start programs, shares ways families can support school readiness at home, and provides opportunities to participate in our Head Start Awareness Month activities. We also take time to honor the strength and courage of those affected by breast cancer while promoting awareness and wellness within our community.

🎉 Hispanic Heritage Month at Here We Grow! 🎉

The children and staff at Here We Grow celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with colorful crafts, a fun-filled fiesta, and lots of learning! Children explored different fruits by touching, smelling, and tasting them, while enjoying music and dancing throughout the day. Staff members shared a wonderful potluck lunch featuring delicious foods from many Hispanic cultures. It was a fantastic celebration of culture, community, and togetherness! ❤️🌎🍍🎶

🍎🌽 Family Fun at the Farmers Market! 🌽🍎

A trip to your local farmers market is a wonderful way to spend quality time together as a family while teaching children healthy habits that can last a lifetime! From exploring colorful fruits and vegetables to meeting the farmers who grow them, every visit becomes a fun learning adventure.

Fresh, locally grown foods are often packed with nutrients that help support growing bodies and developing minds. When children are involved in choosing healthy foods, they are more likely to try new fruits and vegetables at home. 🥕🍓🍅

Shopping at farmers markets also helps strengthen our community. By purchasing from local farmers and vendors, families support small businesses, encourage local agriculture, and help keep fresh food available within the community. It is a great way to connect with neighbors and learn more about where our food comes from.

This week, consider making a family trip to a local farmers market. Let your little one help pick out a new fruit or vegetable to try together. You may discover a new family favorite while creating lasting memories!

🤝 The Power of Peer Collaboration 🤝

Great things happen when we come together! During enrollment, our Child & Family Specialist and Family Success Partners had the opportunity to network, collaborate, and strengthen connections as they work toward a common goal: supporting children and families.

Peer collaboration provides valuable opportunities to share ideas, problem-solve, learn from one another, and build stronger relationships across teams. By working together, we can better support families, improve communication, and create a seamless experience for those we serve.
