The Hillsborough County NAACP is hosting a FREE Community Forum with Candidates on Thursday, July 30 — and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Tampa Bay Area Chapter is proud to be a community partner for this critical civic event.

Candidates running for County Commission Districts 3, 5, and 7. School Board District 6. State Senate District 16. State Representative Districts 62, 63, and 64 will all be in the room.

26 women made a decision this year.

To advocate. To lead. To stand in the gap for Black women and girls across Tampa Bay.

That decision aligns with everything the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Tampa Bay Area Chapter was built to do.

Our mission is to advocate on behalf of Black women and girls to promote leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education, and economic empowerment.

Our vision is a world where socioeconomic inequity does not exist.

These 26 women did not just join an organization. They joined a movement with a mandate.

Please join us in welcoming our 2026 New Members to the sisterhood. Their names and faces say everything.

The work continues.

What a wonderful celebration of community, purpose, and impact!

Our 33rd Gourmet Gents was a tremendous success, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s event so memorable. Because of your support, we were able to raise funds that will directly support our scholarships and chapter programs that uplift and empower Black women and girls.

Through our work in health, education, economic empowerment, public policy, and leadership development, we remain committed to creating opportunities, strengthening our community, and advancing the mission of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc.

Thank you to our participating Gents, sponsors, guests, members, volunteers, and supporters. Your generosity and energy helped make this event impactful and unforgettable.

Juneteenth.

The day our freedom was finally announced. Not the day it was granted. Not the day it was earned. The day the news was no longer kept from us.

161 years later, freedom still asks something of us.

It asks us to stay informed. It asks us to speak up. It asks us to show up in the rooms where decisions about our communities, our children, and our future get made, whether or not we were invited.

That's the work of every generation. And in this moment, it's our turn.

On Saturday, June 27, the NCBW Tampa Bay Public Policy Committee is hosting a Civic Engagement & Advocacy Workshop with NAACP President Yvette Lewis. One morning. Real tools. The kind of know-how our ancestors didn't have access to, taught by women who use it every day.

• Effective advocacy strategies and how to write impactful letters
• Ways to influence change in your community
