Hello, Social Media Followers! 🌊 Are you looking to make a difference in your local community, whether in Cocoa Beach, Florida, or beyond? Look no further than Surfers for Autism!

We have Exciting News We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our first two new chapters in Florida—one in Cocoa Beach and another in Fort Myers, with more chapters to come soon!

To make it happen, we’re looking for dedicated volunteers to help establish these chapters. If you’re passionate about making an impact, join us for our first informational session about the Cocoa Beach Chapter!

• What: Kickoff meeting for the Cocoa Beach Chapter
• When: Friday, November 8, at 6 PM
• Where: Location to be determined—stay tuned!

Registration for After-School Driver's Ed is open! 🚗 Locations available at Northeast High, Pinellas Park High, and East Lake High. Classes take place from November 4-15 and cost $250 (plus service fee). Students must be 15 years of age and have a Learner Permit by the start of the class. Register at pcsb.org/Page/12669

PSA from Pinellas County Schools

PCS will remain closed for students on Tuesday, October 15. Schools will reopen for students on Wednesday, October 16. Sports and activities may resume practices with approval by the principal on Tuesday, October 15.

Staff will return to work on Tuesday, October 15, to continue to ensure the health, safety, and security of our buildings and academic readiness for when students return. On Tuesday, October 15, district and school-based staff will:
✔️ Finalize building preparations to ensure health, safety and security
✔️ Run transportation routes to ensure the safety of bus routes and stops
✔️ Ensure cafeterias are ready to serve students
✔️ Plan for the academic return of students

The first quarter of the school year will now end on Friday, October 18. The district proposal for make-up days/minutes will be discussed at the School Board Workshop on October 22.

Attention Saint Petersburg residents! Our team at Miracle By The Bay wants to share important information from the City of St. Petersburg regarding debris management inspections.

If you have storm debris, please ensure it is properly separated and placed for collection. The City has also opened a debris management site for drop-offs. Stay informed and help keep our community safe during the cleanup process!

The City of St. Petersburg has opened a debris management site for residents and private haulers to drop off storm debris.

📍 Location: 7401 22nd Ave N. (Enter on 72nd St. and exit on 22nd Ave N.)
🕒 Hours: 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. daily

What you can bring:
• Construction & demolition storm debris
• Vegetative debris (Please take to brush sites if possible)

⚠️ Hazardous materials NOT accepted. Store safely until after the storm.

Pinellas County Schools is working closely with Pinellas County Emergency Management to monitor the path of Tropical Storm Milton and the possible impact on our region. All Pinellas County Schools and offices will be CLOSED from Monday, October 7, through Wednesday, October 9. All sports and school activities scheduled for those dates are canceled.

No decision has been made for the end of the week due to the uncertainty of the storm’s path. As soon as a decision has been made, it will be communicated.

🚨 Tropical Storm Milton Alert: Sandbag Operations & Debris Update 🚨

As we continue to recover from Hurricane Helene, the City of St. Petersburg is preparing for Tropical Storm Milton, with potential impacts starting Tuesday, Oct. 8. 🌧️

🔹 Full-service and self-service sandbag operations will be open on SUNDAY, OCT. 6, from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. to help residents prepare. Please note: Full-service sites cannot operate during rain, thunderstorms, or lightning. Sites may close depending on weather conditions.

Self-Service Locations:
• Dell Homes Park – 2741 22nd St. S
• Fossil Park Northern Most Parking Lot – 6875 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. St. N
• Walter Fuller Soccer Field Parking Lot – 2800 75th St. N

Full-Service Locations:

Pinellas County Schools is working closely with Pinellas County Emergency Management to monitor the path of Tropical Storm Milton and the possible impact on our region. At this time, schools and offices will be open on Monday, October 7, for normal operations.
