Project One Vet @ A Time™ (POVAT™) focuses on the legal and medical support of referred Veterans.

$5,637,536. That's not a fundraising goal. That's not a projection.

That's the total amount in increased annual VA benefits Project OVAT™ has secured for veterans since 2020.

211 veterans. Conditions that were overlooked, underrated, and underpaid by a system that was supposed to have their back. Cases that felt impossible, until they weren't.

Every dollar of that number is recurring. It comes back to those veterans every single year. It pays rent. It covers medical bills. It gives families breathing room they haven't had in years.

And every dollar of it was made possible by donors who believed veterans deserved better.

We're not done. We have 57 active cases in progress right now and a waitlist that keeps growing. The need doesn't stop, and neither do we.

Project OVAT™ works with veterans of every branch, every era, and every background, including women veterans who have been told their conditions don't qualify, their evidence isn't enough, or their rating is final.

Today is National Nonprofit Day, and we want to take a moment to share why we do what we do.

Project OVAT™ was built on a simple belief: veterans earned their benefits through service and sacrifice, and they deserve a system that recognizes that fully and fairly.

We're not a government agency. We don't have a contract. We operate entirely on the generosity of donors who share our belief that no veteran should have to fight alone for what they've already earned.

Since 2020, that belief has translated into:

✔ 208 veterans helped
✔ $5.6 million in increased annual VA benefits secured
✔ Zero cost to a single veteran. Ever.

“I enlisted in June of 1990 and completed my enlistment in mid 1995. I was a Security Police K9 handler, specializing in explosive detection, spending 2 ½ years at Kadena AB, Okinawa Japan, followed by Griffiss AFB, Rome, NY. I spent a lot of time in New York City for dignitary support, as well as all over the Northeast in support of then-President Clinton.

I was introduced to POVAT™ through other operational partners - The Patriot Fund, Dogs, Inc., and Quantum Leap Farms. As I started to speak with various people associated with POVAT, I felt like the first obstacle I needed to overcome was feeling like I deserved an increase to my existing VA rating. I looked around and saw plenty of veterans in worse shape than I. Secondarily, it was a challenge for me in gathering evidence and submitting the correct forms so I could be properly evaluated.

The entire POVAT™ staff was extremely knowledgeable about the process and their professionalism really shined through during my entire time interacting with them. After 10 years of battling the VA's bureaucracy, I finally feel like I am appropriately rated and I can just relax and take some much-needed deep breaths!"
