Lorne met Kayla one morning at Mary Lee's House just before her scheduled appointment. To help her pass the time, Lorne kept her laughing with his sweet antics, giving high fives and paw shakes. Dayle shared, “When I handed her a Lorne coloring book and pencils, she gave me the biggest smile and hugged me like I had given her something really special. I’ll always remember that moment and knowing Lorne helped make her morning a little brighter and a little easier.”

Some appointments are scary. Luckily, Lorne is really good at the “I’ve got you” kind of support. 🐾

Whether he’s hanging out with kids before a forensic interview, curling up beside them during a medical exam, or quietly staying close through an interview or deposition, Lorne has a way of making tough moments feel a little softer.

Sometimes it’s a paw to hold. Sometimes it’s a fluffy head in their lap. And sometimes just knowing he’s there helps kids feel safe enough to get through the hard stuff.

Christopher has been in care for quite a while and currently lives in a group home. Through his journey in the dependency court system, Lorne and Dayle have been there beside him every step of the way.

During a recent court appointment, Christopher shared how badly he wanted to go to a WWE event, but didn’t have anyone to take him and couldn’t afford a ticket. So we teamed up with Trevor from the Guardian Ad Litem Office to make it happen! We got Christopher a ticket and Trevor took him to the event for an unforgettable night.

Christopher said it was “the best thing ever” and that he had an amazing time! ❤️

Moments like this are such a good reminder that every kid deserves the chance to just be a kid and make fun memories along the way.

Nate and his mom were at court to testify in a serious case, something that can feel overwhelming for anyone, especially a child. While his mom testified, Lorne stayed by Nate's side keeping him company, and offering comfort so he wouldn’t feel alone or afraid while he waited.

Down time is important for us all! When the work day's done Lorne likes to hangout at one of his favorite places - Downtown Dogs in Hyde Park. There's always new gear to check out and of course SNACKS! Check back regularly to see Lorne at his next hangouts.

Lorne regularly visits Mary Lee's House to comfort and support children during their care. This morning, Lorne spent time with some very brave kiddos before and after their medical exams. Together, they built block towers, shared pets (and a few secrets), and Lorne made sure to send each child off with a high-five 🐾 for a little extra courage and encouragement. 🦮💝
