Have you noticed bright yellow blooms popping up in medians and roadsides lately? Chances are you're seeing Perennial peanut!

This Florida-friendly groundcover is gaining attention as a low-maintenance lawn option. Perennial peanut requires little to no fertilizer once established, has few pest problems, tolerates drought, produces cheerful yellow flowers that attract pollinators and doesn't need frequent mowing. Making it a great choice for those seeking to save time, water, and maintenance costs on lawn care.

While it's not suitable for every landscape situation, perennial peanut can be a beautiful, sustainable option for sunny areas where a lush green groundcover is desired.

Fireflies won't return to a Florida yard just because it's dark - their young need damp, sheltered ground first, and seven overlooked native shrubs build exactly that without turning your beds into a mess.
