🌿 Introducing Ancestral Echoes: Session Two
A Summer Journey Rooted in Story, Land, and Legacy
It is with so much joy that I share the return of our beloved summer program, Ancestral Echoes, a continuation of the work we began last year as we guided our children back to the land, back to themselves, and back to the wisdom that lives in their lineage.
Ancestral Echoes: Session Two deepens this journey.
This year, our children will explore the garden not just as a place to grow food, but as a living classroom where stories, science, culture, and community meet. They will learn how the land remembers us, how our ancestors moved in rhythm with the earth, and how tending a garden becomes a practice of tending the self.
Throughout the program, children will engage in:
*Hands‑on agricultural learning rooted in Afrocentric and Indigenous traditions
*Storytelling circles inspired by Braiding Sweetgrass and other cultural texts
*Exploration of ancestral foodways, plant medicine, and ecological stewardship
*Creative arts, drumming, and movement that honor rhythm, memory, and identity
*Community-building experiences that nurture confidence, curiosity, and belonging
At The Homeschool Village, we believe that children thrive when they can see themselves reflected in their learning, when they can touch the soil, hear the stories, and feel the heartbeat of a community that loves them. Ancestral Echoes is our offering toward that vision; A space where culture, nature, and education come together in a way that is sacred, joyful, and deeply intentional.
