Incredible evening working in the community to help relieve some stress, bring some smiles to weary shoppers, and listen to family stories. Wrapping gifts of strangers is a time of memories, laughter, and storytelling. We even wrapped a wedding ring! What a holiday this lucky lady will have. Thanks to all the wrappers who participated, your wrapping expertise was certainly appreciated. The donations were the extra sparkle!

Our club teamed with GFWC Woman’s Club of New Tampa and GFWC Woman’s Club of Wesley Chapel to create Halloween costume blankets for NICU project. This year an amazing 137 Halloween blankets will be donated. Each with a message from our club and the information of GFWC’s longtime partnership with March of Dimes. Was an amazing evening of fellowship as we laughed, assisted each other, and told stories of our GFWC journeys while creating some normalcy for parents with babies in the NICU. This year approximately 60 of our blankets will be donated locally, thanks to club member Margie Lanoue, and the remainder shipped directly to March of Dimes for distribution throughout Florida.

Citizen Science at Work

The GFWC New Tampa Junior Woman's Club kicked off our club year and August meeting by assisting a local Title I elementary school in collecting supplies and making "Period Packs" containing pads, wipes, ziplock bags, underwear, lip balm, and a "Celebration" card in a discreet pouch decorated with a motivational message. We were honored to have our GFWC Florida District 8 Director, Kat Sherwood, join us too. It was a great way to start our club year!
