Cairo and Friends What the actual Ruff...? A “Ruffin” Positive Disruptive Paradigm Shift for Humanitarian Principles, Mental-Well Being, Therapy and Service Dogs.

It’s hard to believe that a little over a week apart, our Tampa community was struck twice, first by the devastation of Hurricane Helene on September 26, 2024, and then again by Milton on October 9, 2024. Two storms that didn’t just tear through streets and homes, but through hearts and hope.

Today, I attended a Tampa Public Hearing with nearly a hundred community members. The meeting lasted three hours and forty-eight minutes, and yet… not one person spoke about the pain, recovery, or unity following these storms. I know I’m not the only one who cares, but it made me pause and ask, why wasn’t this moment of collective hardship even mentioned?

Sometimes, a simple and sincere conversation can do more than we realize, it can inspire someone to hold on, to believe that they’re not forgotten, that their struggle matters.

To every individual and family still piecing life back together; please know you are not alone. Your resilience is seen, your courage is felt, and your strength continues to ripple through our city.

💫 Sending positive energy, love, and healing vibrations to everyone still navigating recovery. Let’s continue to lift one another up with words, with actions, and with compassion. 🌿

Chairman Alan Clendenin thank you for your recognition, support and always showing Cairo LOVE, MUCH RESPECT!!!

One year has passed since Hurricane Helene reshaped so many of our lives. In this time of reflection, my spirit moved me to stand before city council with a simple message one not just for them, but for every individual and family who still feels the weight of that storm.

To you who know the depth of this message: Keep trodding forward. Step by step, day by day, we are rebuilding not only homes and neighborhoods, but hope, faith, and resilience.

The storm may have left its mental, emotional, financial, and material scars, but it did not break our spirit.

Growing up, I had the privilege of watching Rob Lorei as a journalist and reporter someone who carried himself with integrity, truth, and an unwavering commitment to ethical leadership. Recently, Cairo and I had the honor of meeting Mr. Lorei in person at The Portico in Tampa, FL. His grace, professionalism, and warmth left a lasting impression.

My heart goes out to his family and loved ones during this time of transition. May positive energy and healing vibrations surround you all as you grieve.

Rob, thank you for your dedication, for uplifting voices in our community, and for the example you set. Telling your story about putting up the antenna with 🚗, 🤝 and 🪢 resonated deeply. May you rest peacefully with the divine power. ✨🙏

✨🌱Big news, family & friends🌱✨

“Me Empress” Ashley Marie and I have been holding on to something so precious, something so sacred, and today feels like the perfect day to share it with the world. We are expecting our future baby.

Before announcing it, we chose to embrace this moment in our own unique way. I’m so grateful that “Me Empress” agreed with this decision. Today we finally had the opportunity and experience to “MEET OUR BABY” just the two of us and Cairo.

Meeting our baby with our souls, spirits and hearts wide open, was a memory that was imprinted on my soul and spirit. Giving the ability to extend life was an intentional act of love, a seed planted deep within our consciousness. Now the count down begins to extending our roots and legacy in the most beautiful way.

Is it a boy or a girl? Honestly… it doesn’t matter. What matters is LIFE. What matters is LOVE. What matters is the blessing we’ve been given to nurture, protect, and raise a soul that’s already changing us in ways words can’t capture.

To our future baby: We ❤️ you are already loved beyond measure.

As I came to know more about Ms. Henderson, I was moved by her fierce dedication to education especially within the African American community. She believed not only in access to higher learning, but in empowering generations of young African American students to dream and achieve beyond society’s expectations. She was also a bold protector of women’s rights a voice that never wavered, no matter the cost, it was all in her ACTIONS!

But the moment I hold closest happened in her city council office. It was one of those rare, quiet moments when someone allows you to see them outside of title, outside of role. Just real. Just human.

She looked at me, smiled, and said young man there's a word that comes to mind in your presences... She called me: “Prodigious.”

I paused, unsure.

She asked, “Do you know what that means?”

I said, “No, ma’am.”

She leaned back and said, “I’m not going to tell you. Look it up. Right now. On your phone.”

I did, and when I read the definition, I looked up and saw her watching me with a warmth I’ll never forget. We shared a hug that was a passing of light, of encouragement, of belief.

Miss Henderson, thank you for reminding us all that leadership isn’t about position, It’s about purpose. It’s about presence. And it’s about people. Rest in POWER "QUEEN".
