Trip Recap (Final Part)
Personal Thanks:

To my amazing wife Dawn who went along with me on this crazy trip and was totally supportive, enthusiastic and possibly had even more fun than I did…she went to 27!games and while I would not yet call her a huge baseball fan she is a huge fan of the new rules that shortened the games by 30 minutes and made them more exciting. It was great honey and I love you for loving it too!!

To my equally amazing daughters Laine and Taylor who made it to 7 and 6 games respectively. Tay is forever our tour guide who finds the most beautiful places and things to do and this trip was no exception. Lai was of course my PR guru who got me press and the Today Show and wanted me to do more. She desperately tried to coach me through my appearances but sadly I am no longer coachable. You two are my greatest gifts and loved seeing your joy on the trip as well.

To all of our friends and family who joined us along the way…thank you. It made our trip go from great to incredible and I am so appreciative of all your support of our efforts and wanting to show your support by being a part of it…it meant so much to Dawn and I.

For all our financial donors who insisted on helping and made me do a Go Fund Me to help buy food for the kids. There were close to 100 of you that contributed so 1,800 kids could have hot dogs and drinks… but a special shout out to Mike Gregory, Andy Hirsch, Jeff March and Yoacum Bank for making four figure gifts.

To Tony Bruno and Jon Albert for getting us special access in New York and Los Angeles which was such a cool thrill for us.

AND…Finally to all the amazing young people who came to the games with joy and appreciation for the opportunity. We didn’t get to meet them all but those we did made the games and the trip so incredibly special and we hope they will remember the game and become huge fans of the game just like we are!!!

To Brooke Del Guerico and Jared Aronowitz from MLB who contacted every team to arrange charities and contacts and for helping with our personal tickets as well..could not have done it without them

To Erin and Jacob at the Today Show for giving the kids a day they will never forget (and this kid too)

To Pete and Hayley Alonso and the Alonso Foundation for adding more tickets and food for all of the kids in New York with the Mets

To all the MLB teams for selling us the charity tickets at well below their normal cost.

Special kudos to these teams that went the extra mile by donating additional tickets, food, transportation, $5 tickets so we could bring 200 kids and Jumbotron shots of the kids: Diamondbacks, Dodgers, Angels, Twins, Cardinals, Brewers, Reds, Mets, Yankees, Phillies, Pirates and the Rays.

Game 30- Loan Depot Park- Marlins vs Nationals/Nationals 7 Marlins 4
The Final Game!!! (Although we are doing a bonus game back in St Pete to come full circle). Nice stadium and good atmosphere. Had 100 kids from Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Miami and good friends and family with us. Was great to spend time with cousins Barry, Nina, Greg, Traci, Bruce and my little buddy Dylan. We got on the Jumbotron and had awesome seats. Despite the home team losing it was a fun game and Dawn got one more ballpark order of sushi!! Will recap and give lots of thanks next week…it has been an amazing trip of a lifetime!!

Game 29- Truist Park- Braves vs Mets/Braves 7 Mets 0
Original 30/30 is close to the end (we are doing a 31st back in St Pete) but Atlanta was a Top 10 stadium with so much to do inside and outside the stadium. Dawn had her cousins Jim and Tina and some friends Pat and Stan and our old Ray Charlie Morton pitched 7 shutout innings. Had a couple sitting four rows behind us research our shirts and send us $100 for the Go Fund Me…that was a first and so nice. On to Miami!!

Busy last week of games but truly a highlight. Definitely the most impressive view of any ballpark and the rest of it is pretty great as well with lots to do and see. Had old friend Rich Mahoney join us and show us around his hometown. Had 200 kids thanks to the Pirates providing $5 tickets…they filled up two almost full sections…met two single Moms with their combined 11!! Children..and they were so happy and thankful. Great seats and a really good nigh

Another great turnout of 22 friends and thanks to our good friend Tony Bruno we got amazing seats and access to a suite…very exciting game down to the last pitch. Kulman’s, Cosmas’s, Uihlein’s, Bernatskys, my kids and friends and Katherine all came…thanks for the support. Yankees and Red Sox fans really don’t like each other.

Game 27- Yankee Stadium- Part one: Got a chance for a Hands On Tour which they only do 6 times a year and besides seeing the Yankee museum and Monument Park we got to put on our white gloves and hold Jeter and Babe Ruth’s bay and Judge and Mantle’s uniforms. Also 850 Yankee players autographs including Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Really cool and fun experience.

Game 26-Citizens Bank Park Phillies vs Twins/Twins 3 Phillies 0
Third game in 4 days in beautiful Citizens Park. Had lifelong friends Michael Bobo, David Weiss and Bruce Zwiebel along with Laine and Michael who came in from NYC. Fun group but disappointing result for Weissy who was born and raised in Philly. Also had 125 kids from 6 different B&GC’s clubs and our Go Fund Me gifts and the Phillies provided them all food. We caught them eating and all looked happy. Week break but will post kid pictures from games they attended without us there.

Game 25: Nationals Park/Nationals vs A’s/Nationals 7 A’s 2
Big night in DC…111 kids from the Boys and Girls Clubs and RBI…and friends from all over coming to the game with us. Really nice stadium and the lady that took our tickets saw us on the Today Show. Met a guy doing all the stadiums as well and he snuck in to our group picture. Great to see Mary Beth and Dave Gass from Capon Springs who we have not seen in too many years.
