Losing someone to addiction is a kind of grief that never really leaves you. It’s the unanswered texts. The moments when you still think about calling them. The quiet spaces where their laugh used to be.
And even though the world keeps moving, something always feels missing.
Addiction isn’t about weakness or bad choices the way people like to think. It’s a battle. A brutal one. And too many people we love never get the chance to win it.
Today, we remember them for who they really were. Not the struggle. Not the addiction.
The person.
The laugh. The stories. The love they gave. The space they filled in our lives.
They were loved then.
They’re loved now.
And they’ll never be forgotten. 🖤
